The Optoma Universal (24pin) to RCA (Component + Audio L/R) 0.3 m f/ PK201/PK301 is an awfully long name for a short (11.81 inches, 0.3 meters) cable. Let us explain.

Optoma makes these great little projectors, among them the PK201 and the PK301. Optoma calls them Pico Projectors.

They're so small there isn't enough space to fit all of the different input and output connectors you might need. So Optoma engineers created what they dubbed a Universal 24 pin I/O connector. Now they can go crazy creating all sorts of cables to meet your needs. One end plugs into the Universal connector and the other end can have whatever plugs you need.

In this case the "other end" contains five RCA type plugs. Three of them are for component video (Y, Pb, Pr), the highest quality analog video connection you can make. The other two are the standard RCA L/R pair for stereo input.

So this short cable with the long name allows you to pump high quality audio and video into your PK201 or PK301 Pico Projector. That's pretty crazy, huh? Crazy like a fox.

Comments about Optoma Technology Universal (24 pin) to RCA (Component + Audio L/R) 0.3 m for PK201/PK301:

After losing the 24 pin universal to vga cable for my Vivitek Qumi Q2, I ordered this cable as a replacement. From what I understand Vivitek adopted this connection from Optoma, and since I was unable to locate replacement Qumi cables, I decided to give it a shot. The 24 pin end of the cable was exactly the same, and fit securely into the Qumi Q2, however I was unable to get a signal from multiple devices I tested with the Qumi via the Optoma 24 pin to RCA cable. Useless for my device.

Comments about Optoma Technology Universal (24 pin) to RCA (Component + Audio L/R) 0.3 m for PK201/PK301:

I bought this connector for my pico projector to replace the now non-fuctional Monster Cable mini-HDMI to HDMI adaptor I was using. Whether the failure was the adaptor itself or the connection with the projector is unknown. I suspect, because my Mac Book Pro could still detect the PK-301 via the mini-display to HDMI that it was the loose connection with the projector itself which caused the video to not display as it previously had. I believe the failure was due to the weight of the cable pulling down on the very small mini-HDMI port and caused a loose connection because a few times when I'd hold the cable in place I could get video to project from my computer. So, I switched to the provided universal I/O VGA and used a mini-display to VGA adaptor. This allowed me to still use video from my computer but at a reduced resolution. I purchased the universal I/O COMPONENT adaptor so I could plug my Playstation 3 into it for projecting my BLU-RAY collection and retaining a 1080i resolution on the wall outside for outdoor movie nights. The advantage of the universal I/O port over the mini-HDMI port is that the cables CLICK into place and lock so as to avoid a poor connection. For sound, however, I found I had to run the audio from the PS3 through to my MIC IN on my MBP then pass through to the HEADPHONE OUT port to get properly amplified sound which I could not get through the AUDIO OUT port on the back of the projector.
