a problem may arise with bus powered portable drive as some express bus laptops do not supply enough power. Best with powered usb3 devices.

Comments about SIIG 2-Port USB 3.0 SuperSpeed ExpressCard/34:

Needed USB 3.0 capability on my older Sony VIAO running Win 7. This adaptor did the trick. It was plug and play and offered the speed boost I needed.

Comments about SIIG 2-Port USB 3.0 SuperSpeed ExpressCard/34:

I have two MacBook Pros, one a later model with 3 (supposedly) USB 3.0 ports. I have been unable to get any USB 3.0 drive, portable or powered, to work either on the USB 3.0 ports or using either of two ExpressCards, even with auxiliary power which is available with some ExpressCards.

Looks like an Apple problem, and the discussion boards indicate related issues on the latest models as well.

We run speciality cameras on USB cables. Each camera has to have its own buss because the eat all the bandwidth USB has. A high end laptop will with USB ports on both sides will have two busses. By putting this into the express slot, we got one more camera connected.

I'm using the card with an older HP Laptop, running LR3 and two WD External drives. Transfer rates well beyond the USB 2.0 ports had provided. Saves time, No complaints.

So far, this device works exactly as promised. Installation was easy, just put in the CD and follow the instructions. I had it up and running in 5 minutes. I love it because it gives me an extra two USB ports.
