I have a select few filters that I use for all my different lenses with step up rings. Since the included lens hoods wouldn't have worked, I needed another hood. In this configuration it works great on my lenses. I recommend putting the hood closest to the lens, and then add the filter if you have a wider angle lens. Not sure where the cutoff point is, but my 21mm needed the filter on last.

This is the cheapest 67mm I could find at the time.

When it is extended it is fairly sturdy. Enough that I can invert a small lens connected to it for a few moments while I attach a rear cap to the lens.

It folds quickly/easily. One thing to keep in mind is the overall diameter is quite large. It only fits in one of my lens cases. But it fits fine in a pocket on my camera bag.

It is kind of a light grey, and looks pretty bad. Also oils from just touching it make it look even worse.

Overall I am happy with it. Pretty hard to beat the price.

I bought this on the recommendation of someone else and have been very pleased with the purchase. It protects my lens and provides enough shade from the sun. Will purchase another soon for my other lens.

Comments about General Brand 67mm Collapsible Rubber Lens Hood:

I use this more to protect the lens than as a hood, but it works great as a good as well. The rubber is incredibly firm, so putting the camera down hard on a surface is helped by the hood.

Comments about General Brand 67mm Collapsible Rubber Lens Hood:

The hood works well, unless you have a filter on the camera. Using a UV, Polarizer, or ND filer between the lens and the hood, you still get lens flare, though obviously less than without the hood.

Comments about General Brand 67mm Collapsible Rubber Lens Hood:

Collapsible lens hood remains on my lens all the time and does not have to be installed when the camera comes out of my bag and reversed when the camera goes back in the bag. It is much simpler to use than the standard hard lens hoods. Filters can be added or removed more easily than with a hard lens hood. The only negative feature is extremely slight vignetting at the corners with a zoom lens at 18 mm.
