Although it's less than 9" long, SureFire's M3LT CombatLight Extended-Range Dual-Output LED is suitable for spotlight/searchlight applications, and features 800-lumen white-light LED illumination. CombatGrip design gives you a secure hold with cold, wet, or gloved hands. For superior corrosion-resistance, the M3LT is constructed from high-strength aerospace aluminum with a Mil-Spec hard-anodized finish, and it's O-ring and gasket-sealed for protection from moisture, dirt, and dust.
The M3LT is powered by three CR123A batteries that provide a full-power tactical level of light for 1.7 hours, or a low output of 70 lumens for 8.5 hours, activated by a pushbutton tailcap switch.
SureFire's LED emitter is virtually indestructible - there is no filament to burn out or break. The emitter has a large-diameter Turbohead TIR (Total Internal Reflection) reflector/lens assembly which creates a powerful beam of light optimized for close-to-medium-range applications. The coated, tempered window resists impact and thermal shock, maximizes light transmission.

Comments about SureFire M3LT Combatlight Flashlight:
This is yet another great product offered by surefire. The quality of the the light is more the i could have asked for, and surefire customer service is always more then willing to help if you do encounter problems with their light. I was surprised to find this light at BHphotovideo for the price I did, which was almost 200 dollars below suggested retail. I was also extremely happy with the shippings times of BHphotovideo as well. All in all I am extremely happy with this purchase.

Comments about SureFire M3LT Combatlight Flashlight:
I've used SureFire lights to help security in hotels, movie theaters, and apartment buildings maintain order in the face of hundreds of unprepared, panicing patrons. I've used SureFire lights to effectively defend myself, otherwise unarmed, against armed robbers at night. I've used and abused SureFire lights in all kinds of harsh conditions, in sand, underwater, banged them on rocks, dropped them on concrete, and not once, ever, have I ever seen a SureFire light that failed to operate correctly. That is more than I can say about ANY OTHER BRAND OF ILLUMINATION TOOL. I mean that completely. I've used many other brands, tried to go half way, and I know more about tactical illumination than anyone ever should. The bottom line is that just as their website says, SureFire makes the best, no matter what. There are brighter lights, and cheaper lights, but that comes at a price, I promise. I've had lights from several other leading brands that I'm not allowed to mention here fail at critical moments, and that is not acceptable.
The breakdown:
1: If you want something that puts out a massive amount of light, and you don't care about weight, and you don't care about durability, and you won't use it in very harsh conditions, then there are options out there for you. Do a little research. Poke around. A few decent brands produce lights with 2000+ lumens. A brief warning, I have yet to see a company other than SureFire that hasn't exaggerated the output of their lights, but there are still some pretty crazy bright things out there. Pick something else.
2: If you want a little light to keep in the living room so you can make your way to the drawer where you keep the light sticks and candles, and the worst case senario if it doesn't work is a stubbed toe while you walk through the kitchen, I would say that this light, or indeed, SureFires in general, are overkill. Pick something else.
3: If you frequently have to be out at night in sketchy areas, if you go on multiple day hikes where you depend on your light to get you through, if you work in harsh environments and need the best gear available, if you need a simple and effective light that is easy to operate under stress in any conditions, or if you are ever in high risk situations where you need your light to work, no matter what, and you need it to be incredibly bright, then pick SureFire.
Just as a note, they have many different models, and I recommend checking them all out before buying. Hopefully you have already done this. I highly recommend their new 15-500 lumen pocket-sized lights for every-day carry, if you want something smaller.
Finally, because people have mentioned this in the past, I want to state clearly and plainly that I am not affiliated with SureFire in any way. I get nothing for writing this. I actually just care.

Comments about SureFire M3LT Combatlight Flashlight:
I admit I hesitated to buy this light because of the price - a flashlight that pushes $ - but I decided to go ahead and take the leap. I have to say I'm not disappointed. I wanted a "full" size, tactical light with a minmum of features. I wanted a light that had a low output for more common use but a strong output for special purposes. This one accomplshes both (lo-hi) tasks in either the 2-way push button switch on the end for temporary lo-hi use or the 2-way twist switch at the end for longer-term lo-hi use. The slim body is easy to hold while flared business end of this light has a "blinding" amount of light when needed. By my scale the light with batteries weighs 11 1/2 ounces. It also comes with a loop for a lanyard - I don't know if I'll ever use that or not. Perhaps is ever used over water that might come in handy. No frills, no strobe, no laser, no variable power - just the basics. I have other lights with frills - this is my workhorse. I'm listing pros/cons but realize that I can't comment on durablilty since I've only had it a short time.

Comments about SureFire M3LT Combatlight Flashlight:
I have seven surefire flashlights. This is by far the best. You expect alot from a three hundred dollar flashlight, and you wont be disappointed. I use it for inspection purposes and the brightness is amazing. Low power is needed for most applications, especially when looking at white surfaces. High Power shows what couldn't be seen before and the run time on high is very reasonable. If you need the best, this is it

Amazing light. I use it for patrol purposes. The long run time on low its a plus and when needed press in for the blinding 800 lumen to use as a search light or to blind a potential threat. Great product also loved b&h's help in choosing this product for my needs. Thanx a bunch B&H.
