Zacuto's Gorilla Plate Adapter centers the Gorilla Plate's offset tripod holes by screwing into the bottom of the plate and providing a set of aligned holes. This is necessary when the Gorilla Plate and Z-Finder are mounted to another manufacturer's baseplate. Without the adapter, the camera won't be centered and the lens will not line up with a matte box or follow focus.
Note! A height adjustable matte box is needed if using a matte box with the Gorilla plate on another manufacturer's plate system unless, like the Zacuto DSLR Baseplate, their plate system is height adjustable.

This is a necessary part of the Z Finder kit especially if you don't have the rest of Zacuto kit and wish to use it on your tripod centred, as without it your camera would be off centre on your tripod. Considering how fiddly it is take the Zacuto viewfinder on and off, this component is essential. Yes I would recommend it to everyone who owns a Z finder.

This does exactly what it's made for. It re-centers the tripod plate when you're using non-Zacuto gear. My only beef is that it's a little pricey for something that should already be included with the Gorilla Plate. But It's a necessary piece if you have a non-Zacuto follow-focus or matte box.
