Budget-conscious and versatile, the Compact AC/DC Charger for LP-E8 Battery from Pearstone is a prudent choice, providing you with 3 ways to charge out of the gate, and the ability to charge your USB devices as well! The fold-out AC plug provides normal in-wall charging for the US, and allows for easy travel and storage. The included cigarette lighter DC adapter provides in-vehicle charging, while the Euro plug adapter can be used for European wall sockets. Along with charging the Pearstone LP-E8, the Compact Charger is also compatible with the Canon LP-E8 battery.
As mentioned above, the Compact Charger goes beyond the call of duty, charging your USB devices as well. Just connect your device via its USB charging cable, and connect the Compact Charger to the wall or cigarette outlet in your vehicle. Additionally, the Compact Charger can also be used with the optional ADC-AC AC Adapter from Pearstone.
With its easily interchangeable plate, the charger can also be used for other battery models that are not listed above - via the separate purchase of an additional battery plate.

I purchased this charger when I somehow lost the charger for my Canon T2i. [...]. This charger offers more features than the charger that came with the camera. (That charger cost a lot more to replace than the Pearstone charger). You can charge the battery or any other device that has an USB adapter via the USB port; you can charge the battery while in the car -came with a car battery adapter; and you can charge the battery via AC. This charger is convenient, compact, and reasonably priced. The only downside is that it takes a little longer to charge the battery but if you have a back up battery, that shouldn't be a problem.

The Pearstone line up of chargers is great for situations where there are only one or two power sources (a car, for example), but there are several devices that need to stay charged up (cameras, phones, computing devices, GPS, etc). The Pearstone battery chargers have two big pluses: (1) they have swappable plates for batteries, so one charger can be used for several types of batteries if you buy the inexpensive plates; (2) they have a USB port that you can use to connect another device for charging if it has a charge cable with USB on one end (as so many devices do). I haven't had any trouble with the devices so far.

I purchased this charger to replace a cheaper version I bought and it is well worth the few extra bucks. This one feels pretty solid and has already made it on several trips with no problems. It seems to charge as fast as the one that came with the camera. I like all the options such as car adapter, wall plug, and USB for charging other electronics. It also has an interchangeable plate so it will be able to charge other battery types by just buying other charger plates. I will probably purchase the Pearstone dual charger as well in the near future since I tend to be outdoors and away from any wall plugs.
