Comments about Axis Communications AXIS M1054 Network Camera:
Although I couldn't find it in the instructions (who reads instructions?)you need to have java enabled in your browser for some of the configurations. I initially had java disabled and for awhile, couldn't figure out why I wasn't able to access some of the settings. The viewer works in Chrome-I/E and Firefox, but is best viewed in I/E so that all of the extensions and codecs work. Since I rarely use I/E this also took some time to figure out. Picture quality is excellent for a remote viewer camera and the microphone is very sensitive. I could pick up conversations from another room. Picture is 720P but not as clear as it should be. Works great in low light situations.
The only con would be a lack of access light that tells you when the camera is being accessed by a viewer. Older models I had did have this feature. Axis support has informed me that in a future firmware release, they may put this feature back in.

Comments about Axis Communications AXIS M1054 Network Camera:
I bought 2 of these along with 2 P1344's. I also reviewed the 1344's.
These M1054's hooked right up with my security system and after a couple of weeks have not had any problems.
These cameras do get hot. I had one inside looking out a window. When I set it up the sun was not on the camera. After a few hours (obviously) the sun was shining on the camera and the 1054 got very hot. It was hot enough that I could not hold it in my bare hand.
I know excessive heat and electronics don't mix so I atached a DC computer fan about 3 inches behind each 1054. The fans are powered by Coolerguys 110v AC to 12 / 5v DC 4pin Molex 2A Power Adapter. Heat Problem Solved!
I have also repositioned the cameras so they get the least amount of direct sunlight (Summer) possible while still providing the camera coverage I need. At some point I'll fasion a custom hood for each.
One feature that I like about this cameras software is the ability to select which part of the scene you want to allow motion detection to take place.
My neighbor likes flags. Flags move in the wind (Duh!) with this software I can draw any shape I want around any object(s) I want and if they move they will not trip the cameras motion detection.
I went from 80 - 120 bogus recordings from EACH camera per day to 5 to 15 actual motion trips (mostly pesky cats, skunks, and even insects).
If you have your cameras inside looking out through a window and there is lightning and rain this wil set the cameras motion detector off a lot.
I'm sure there is a solution (different method of detection, setting) for this but I have not figured it out yet.
Also like that I can access my cameras and the recordings from anywhere in the world where there is a wired/wireless internet connection.

Comments about Axis Communications AXIS M1054 Network Camera:
The camera is easy to set up and make changes to via the web interface. Video quality is pretty good. As reviews I have read, the video is not as sharp as some other cameras with the same resolution, but good enough for this price range of camera. And it's smaller than many cameras with the same specs. And I like the PoE capability, which is one of the main reasons I bought this one. Great value.

Comments about Axis Communications AXIS M1054 Network Camera:
I use this product at home, so far set up was a breeze, there is a great video for set up on youtube step by step. I am going to connect it to my house alarm.
Good about it: small, LED light is better than night vision, has PoE feature, I am not techy and I consider it user friendly, finally tech support for axis is great(fast answering the phone)
Bad: not wireless BUT PoE makes up for it, clamp could be a tiny bit bigger to fit on a door but overall is not bad.
YES! Worth the price, image quality on blackberry is great!
