Comments about Hewes 120 Stainless Steel Developing Reel:

Hewes are the best steel reels, both in MF and 35mm. Unless you run a car over them, they do not bend and last forever.

Comments about Hewes 120 Stainless Steel Developing Reel:

I know, it's just a film reel, and it's on the pricey side.I was looking for a manual loading reel (I've never had consistent luck with the plastic self-loading type) for processing my own film at home.During a film photography class at the local community college, I was able to attempt to use several different types of reel, and was never particularly happy with any of them. I could always think of a better design, and was even considering the idea of making my own.I ordered this one, hoping that it would work for me. Not only did it arrive _straight_, it includes minor design improvements I had considered; including a spring setup that makes sense in the dark. The spring is firm enough to get the film started, but not so tight that you have to wrestle with it; and the film pretty much rolls itself on.I'm going to be ordering at least one more of these.

I have many reels and not all of them are made equally. This particular reel has performed perfectly with the last 5 rolls of film, no problems
