The Wildgame Innovations AC5x 5 Megapixel HD Infrared Action Video Camera is a compact camera that you can mount on your hat, a tree, ski, skate board or just about any place to capture all the action as it happens. The camera captures 5 MP still images or video clips at 1080 x 720 @ 60 FPS.
The 8 no glow infrared LED lights allows you to capture the action 30' away at night as well as in the daytime. The camera features a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery and can take up to a 32GB Micro SDHC cards so you never run out of power or storage space. The 1.125 x 0.875" LCD shows camera information, and the 4x times digital zoom allows you to get in close to the action.

I USED THIS CAMERA FOR A DUNE BUGGY TRIP IN VEGAS. THE IMAGE WAS SHARP AND ON POINT. THE SOUND WAS ALSO AUDIBLE. GOOD CAMERA, I JUST DID NOT LIKE THE WAY IT STORED THE VIDEOS ON THE CARD. BUT STILL A GOOD SPORTS CAMERA. ALSO I DID NOT LIKE THE LACK OF NICKS FOR THE CAMERA, IT WAS DIFFICULT TO MOUNT THE CAMERA ON THE DUNE BUGGY.

I have used this camera on mountain bikes, and to record motorcycle road racing. I also used it for general video shooting.
At first I was put off by the plastic-y, toy-like construction and non-replaceable plastic lens, but in actual use I would have to accept the camera is very tough... mine survived a crash at well over 100mph, bits of dirt attesting that it did hit the ground fairly hard. It pulled through no problems. Battery life is also good. And the camera comes with many accessories in the box.
Being a cheap camera, the image quality is not the best, especially in low light or in situations of high contrast. The sound is also pretty poor. And the LEDs do glow red and are noticeable. I have not managed to scratch my lens yet, but I'm sure the day will come.
But for the price, I find these issues quite acceptable. This would be a great sports POV camera for those on a budget, who need the infra red capability, or who don't want to risk destroying or losing a $300 helmet camera.

Be aware that this is just a manually operated camera. I does not sense the presents of an animal, you have to be there and push the button to take the picture. Range is 20 feet, so counter to the implication presented in the advertising; I don't see how you get that close to a Deer. Also, the manual is poor, just pictures with no explanation of the operating modes. The ergonomics are also tedious. To change modes you have to step through all of the set-up screens for time and date each time. No screen or view finder -- you just shoot blind. Just use you iphone to take the pictures.

This product sounds great and is a great price though when I got mine. The LCD would not power up after after charging(after following instructions). Not only that but I had to replace the USB cord which did not work correctly as the power LED would not light up either.
I got the bad one out of the batch sounds like(maybe not wired properly)... so it looks like I am going to be waiting bout 3 weeks to have it back repaired and or replaced.

I haven't had a chance to use it too much yet, but it works fairly well. Not the best image quality however it's pretty cool for a [$] camera. when looking at IR without spending a lot of money there are few choices. So far I am happy with the camera. It would be nice if it had an LCD on it so you can see what you are filming but again for the price I cannot complain.

I've used this camera to film my own hunts. It's an awesome little camera. The infrared is great. All the different ways to mount it helps too. But I don't like the fact that there's no small screen on the side to see what you're actually filming. I don't know if I got a good video until I get home and put the micro ad card in my computer

I purchased the ac5x a few weeks ago,very easy to use.i've practiced with it to get a feel for it before i took it on a hunt.strapped it to my bow using the rubber strap.I took it with me sept.16 and recorded a successful deer hunt.video is awsome,crisp and clear.Just an awsome camera.

Have only used the hat mount and tripod. Easy to push buttons. Underwater case is excellent. Great picture in record mode. Not as much jumping around as we expected. Auto focus was a surprizing bonus. Instructions are a bit hard to follow but once you have the hang of it, it's great!!!
