The American Recording Recording Sign is a lightweight and flexible, lighted sign that can even be placed on curved walls. It keeps people aware and warned that something is in progress. The sign uses flat panel electo-illumination technology and does not require any light bulbs, eliminating excessive heat problems normally associated with tradition light boxes. The controller allows selection of either variable flash or non-flash operation. It is easy to install and no tools are required for installation. Sign is shipped complete with power supply, control box, 25" extension cable, hook & loop mounting strips and easy to follow instructions.

Comments about American Recorder Recording Sign:
This sign is just what we wanted. Low profile sign that did not need a construction crew to install. Looks great and the technology behind it has us scratching our heads. We wish there was a way to actually customize the sign to our own wording. We ordered all three current designs but would have liked to adapt each design just a little. We are using at several doors to our production areas to keep people from just walking in when a production is in progress. (stating the obvious here) With a lot of amateurs in our facility people do not always know when it is ok to come into the studio area.

Comments about American Recorder Recording Sign:
Purchased for use in video studio. Opened box and was immediately not impressed by the quality of workmanship. It's flimsy and cheaply made. I also agree with other reviewers that the tones generated by the power supply/controller are unacceptable. The instructions advise to locate that part of the unit in an isolated area. More easily said than done when the cables are too short to allow for that. Plus, it puts the controller in an out of the way location for something you would want to access often while recording. Don't buy.

Comments about American Recorder Recording Sign:
The sign works/looks great and you can set it to be on when you turn it on or blink. However, the switch makes an audible high pitched tone that will be picked up by recording instruments in a studio. This is unacceptable in my mind. However, the manufacturer said this is "normal" behavior based on the electrical circuits and it's listed in the instructions. This is unacceptable and I do not recommend this project if you plan on having the switch in your studio near recording instruments.

Comments about American Recorder Recording Sign:
We purchased two of these for a recording studio we have at our office, put them up on the wall, and one of them started smoking, sparking, and burnt a hole in itself. Talk about a fire hazard. I do not recommend this for anyone, we returned both of them. I also called the company to let them know that this happened, I didn't get an apology just some guy who's brother owns that company that said "ya that happens sometimes" - there was no warning on the manual or anything. They're just lucky that it didn't actually start a fire in our office because we were watching it. I will never buy a product from them again.
