A tripod head is required and not included with these legs. Be sure you purchase a tripod head to attach to your camera.
The Slik Pro 634 CF 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod is an extremely lightweight, compact support for camcorders and DSLR cameras equipped with standard zooms or telephoto lenses. Maximum height for the tripod is a generous 63.1". Supporting loads up to 7.05 lb, the Pro 634 CF legs fold down to only 18" and weigh a mere 2.05 lb.
The four leg sections are secured and freed by way of twist locks. Because the legs are non-rotating, you can unlock all of a leg's stages at once by twisting the three large rubber grips with one hand. This enables remarkably fast setup of the Pro 634 CF tripod.
The rapid center column is removable as well as reversible for extreme low-angle shooting with an inverted camera.

Comments about Slik Pro 634 CF 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod:
Great tripod. Very light yet also very sturdy. Assembels and disassembels quickly. Very easy to transport and carry. I mentioned care of the carbon fiber as a CON but this is only because you will need to be just a bit more cautious because carbon fiber is a fiber and not metal. Nothing extra would be required other that normal care for any peice of equipment.

Comments about Slik Pro 634 CF 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod:
I love this tripod; it's very light and compact. I have been traveling with a Slik U212, which is very heavy. This CF tripod is amazingly steady with my Nikon D700 and attached lenses (70-200mm, 24-70mm). My only complaint is that the carrying bag was designed with a ball-head attachment in mind. My pan/tilt head does not allow the zipper to fully close-one arm/handle sticks out. I have a lot of respect for Gitzo and initially thought of buying; however, they are extremely expensive. I'm very happy with this Slik and it's a lot cheaper than a Gitzo.

Comments about Slik Pro 634 CF 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod:
I use this product when shooting landscapes. I like this product because it is lightweight and very portable. Also the ability to position the legs in multiple positions for better angles make this product a smart buy for a good medium size tripod. The only Con for this product is that there is no quick release for a camera only a screw mount.

Simply a traveler's dream or for everyday use. Very compact, light and sturdy. I have discarded my bean bag from my car as this tripod is so easy to take anywhere.

Comments about Slik Pro 634 CF 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod:
I bought this tripod for an upcoming trip to Yosemite, but it didn't last that long. It was nice and lightweight - attached to my small camera pack, and was great for hiking. However, on a short warmuo trip to a waterfall near Ithaca, one of the legs got wedged under a rock. As I tried to remove it, with very little force, the leg snapped clean off at the hinge. I now have a bi-pod and a [$] walking stick.Good for travel, but very poor durability.
