A three-light kit that offers some interesting possibilities, the Arri Soft-Key 3-Light Kit includes two 650W Fresnels and an Arrisoft 1000, a 1000W fixture that makes an excellent choice for a soft fill or a main light. Its small size (only 5.5" deep) and light weight make it perfect for situations where bulky soft boxes or umbrellas wouldn't fit. This is a floor stand model, with standard Baby (5/8") receptor--it throws a beam of light of 64 footcandles 17.1 feet vertical beam from 12 feet. The 650W Fresnel fixtures give a beam angle in the flood position is 52 degrees, and a narrow 14.5 degrees in the spot position. This fixture designed to be operated with 120V AC current.

Comments about Arri Soft-Key 3-Light Kit:
I use this kit for lighting on small film/video shoots, as well as still work. It's a great kit all around. Combined with other smaller fixtures like Lowell lights or the 150 watt Arri fresnel, you actually have a great many options in one box for a variety of lighting situations.
All the lights are well-made, relatively rugged. Very easy to use and change bulbs. Light quality from the 650 fresnels is great, very easy to control, and they are versatile lights. I had never seen the 1K Soft light before this, but I have to sat that it is quite well made. Offers great light in confined interiors, and saves you flags, stands and diffusion materials. Get
the egg crate for it if you can.
This is a heavy portable kit: about 75 lbs in the box with minimal accessories. There are heavier kits, but you need a car if you are planning to haul everything for one long distance. The case it comes in is solid. Fitted for the lights, with space for stands and a few accessories. Not sure how much of a shipping case this is, although it does latch very well, with latches that are similar to larger Anvil or Calzone shipping cases. Case does have small folding arms on its interior that can clamp down on the power cord(s), causing wear.
I have always thought that the Arri lights have these great big power cords with rather feeble connections into the the lamp housing, where one is able to see wires etc., underneath to the rubber. The fresnels have a bit of this, but it seems that the connection are still more than strong enough. The lights come packed with their faces up– I suggest turning them around in the case during storage, travel, or shipping, as I think that while face up the light rests partially on the power cord's connection, which can only cause wear.
The basic Arri stands that come with the kit could be SLIGHTLY better suited to these small yet rugged lights. The soft light seems slightly less stable then it could be, even at its lowest height. The 650s are slightly lighter, so they do better on these stands than the 1K soft light. Make sure you have a sand bag for each stand.
Other than that, this is a great, versatile kit. Both light types are classic designs, perfect for any image-producing professional.

Comments about Arri Soft-Key 3-Light Kit:
I am primarily a still photographer that shoots some video so I started my research on hot lights. This kit gives a relatively compact solution to most lighting scenarios needed for me to shoot video. The kit includes most of the light shaping accessories I need for shooting and the case has enough space to add a few more accessories if you need.
