The Wide Angle Scuba Series HD 720p 5 MP Camera Mask (Large Size) is one of the Xtreme Sport Cams from Liquid Image. It features an integrated water resistant camera that shoots high definition 720p (1280 x 720) digital video plus 5.0 megapixel photographs. The mask operates to a depth of 130' (40m) and allows for hands-free imaging. Ideal for scuba diving, it may also be used for snorkeling, snuba, spearfishing, and freediving since you don't have to carry a camera. The wide angle lens has a wide 135° field of view to capture all the action underwater in high definition while snorkeling or scuba diving.
The mask has a microSD/SDHC card slot and comes with a 2GB microSD card. The memory can be expanded, to record thousands of still images or approximately 16 hours of video. The camera operates on 4x AAA Batteries. The Scuba Series HD features lever style buttons which are easy to press while wearing dive gloves. To record a photo or a video, simply turn on the camera, choose the mode, then press the shutter button. LED lights inside the mask indicate the mode to the user. The buttons are positioned along the upper right corner of the frame and are easy to access.
The lenses are made of tempered glass and have integrated crosshairs that help you to line up shots. The wide angle 135° angle of view lens will allow you to get closer to your subject. This is very important in underwater imaging. You will also think less about operating the camera while underwater.
Downloading images is as easy as plugging in the mask to your PC's or Mac's USB port (RCA/USB cable provided) and pressing the power button. TV playback is also possible through the RCA/USB cable and the included software (PC only) allows you to edit your photos.

I investigated many options for underwater photography, and the Liquid Image HD camera mask is by far the best bang for the buck. While it's not going to compare with a DSLR with an underwater enclosure, it doesn't cost upwards of $3000 either. The pictures and video results from this mask are quite good and as good or better than I expected. I'm sure I will get a lot of use out of it for the next year or more.
