The sleek and compact 17-in-1 Desktop Memory Card Reader from Sony enables high-speed transfer of data files, music and video between your camera and computer. This external reader/writer unit supports 17 different card formats and is usable on both Windows and Macintosh computers. The plug-and-play design is easy to use via its USB 2.0 interface. The included 1.6' connecting cable gives it flexibility for a desk, work station or even in the field. The included downloadable Drive Letter Recognition Software (for Windows ONLY) makes it easier for the reader to detect which cards are being used.

I use this card reader on my laptop for transferring RAW files. My laptop came only with an SD card reader. Since my camera uses Compact flash cards as well as SD cards I find it useful for both. Transfer certainly is faster as versus my old USB 1.0 card reader. Size is also convenient.
