The Interfit Strobies Folding Softbox (24 x 24") is an ideal way to get studio-quality light from your on-camera flash. This softbox slips over the head of your flash, softening the light output. An included ball bracket allows you to tilt the softbox for greater control. This softbox is lightweight, compact, and easy to set up and break down. A SB900 shoe is included in the kit to allow the use of the Nikon SB900 speedlite, which does not have a standard foot. Some flashes, such as the Vivitar 285, have heads that are too large to fit inside this softbox--the use of a Flex Mount and Strobies Softbox (STR104) is recommended instead. A kit bag is included for storage and transport.

I have nothing but praise for this product.
The Interfit Strobies 60x60cm Foldable Softbox is an inexpensive, portable light modifier that travels well, sets up and breaks down quickly, and turns a hot shoe flash into a big, beautiful, soft light source. Combine this softbox with an inexpensive flash, a compact light stand, and radio triggers, and you have a reasonably priced portable, on-demand studio that can be used indoors or out.
The softbox and related hardware fits nicely in a soft rectangular case that measures approximately 13" long x 9" wide x 3.5" deep. Inside the case is a ball-head/flash bracket, a speed ring, a diffusion panel, and a circular pouch about 8" across and 3" deep containing the folded softbox. The flash bracket assembly has a standard cold shoe attached, and includes an extra cold shoe to accomodate a Nikon SB-900 speedlight. Total weight is about 44.5 ounces (a few ounces shy of three pounds).
To set up the softbox, attach the ball-head/flash bracket to a light stand. Unzip the circular pouch, grab the folded softbox firmly, and remove from the pouch. Be careful--if you don't have a good grip on the softbox, it may spring open unexpectedly with quite a bit of force. I secure the folded softbox with a 6" ball bungee to keep this from happening.
Using both hands, open up the softbox into a triangular shape, then pop it open completely.
Attach the diffusion panel to the front of the softbox by way of the velcro strips, and you're ready to install the speedring.
The softbox consists of 4 triangular panels sown together around spring bands. To install the speedring, place the softbox facedown and insert the speedring underneath the top panel flap and one side panel flap. Then pull back the other side flap and the bottom flap to seat the speedring snugly. This is hard to explain, but you'll understand immediately when you see the softbox. Then slide the speedring's bar onto the flash bracket, attach your flash to the cold shoe, hook up your radio trigger or sync cord, and you're ready to shoot.
The softbox has loops inside to allow the installation of an inner diffusion panel, but
oddly does not come with an inner diffusion panel.
To break down the softbox, remove from the flash bracket, and remove the diffusion panel and speedring. Flatten the softbox and fold into a triangle (again, difficult to explain but easy to see). Place one hand on the top corner of the softbox and the other hand in the middle of the base. Twist your hands in opposite directions. This will bring the softbox into a three-layered disc shape, with the two corners at the base forming the outer layers and the corner held in your hand the inner layer. Flatten the disc, wrap a ball bungee around it if you want, and place in the circular pouch. Fold the diffusion panel and place in the pouch. Put the pouch, speedring, and ball-head/flash bracket in the case, zip it up, and you're done.
Folding the softbox sounds complicated, and it takes some practice, but once you get the hang of it, it's fast and easy. There are videos on youtube that show how it is done.
In conclusion, the Interfit Strobies softbox is inexpensive, portable, and a great addition to a photographer's lighting kit.

I purchased this product based on the reviews on B&H. Most of them were outstanding. I receive the product and upon having difficulty folding it, it bent. I had found videos on how to fold it back up and fix it and it was extremely difficult. I sent it back immediately and continued my search for another speedlite softbox. I learned my lesson that sometimes cheaper isn't better.

Plan to use for portable portrait and group photos. Folds small and contained everything needed to mount Nikon CLS flashes to light stands. Wished there had been instructions included on how to re-fold. Also wish there had been a warning about the tension the units are under when they come out of the pouch - first one I opened "popped" me in the nose!

The Metal parts are nice it feels fairly sturdy! the ball head isn't FANTASTIC but it certainly works!
one downfall is it didn't come with an internal diffuser of any sort.
and with my pocket wizard it did take some...work to get my 580exII to line up. But i finally got it!

Ive always used shoot through umbrellas and was happy with the results. Now I bought this softbox and let me tell you, you will love the results. The quality of light is actually softer for some reason. No annoying spill light with the softbox. Only lights the subject since its dirrectional. In my opinion, the inner baffle which its NOT included is not neccesary. Overall, I love this softbox and will be purchasing another one soon.

I am a wedding photographer and bought this after a friend recommended it as an alternative to hauling strobes and umbrellas for formal group shots in dark venues. SO glad I did. Used it today with one 580exII to easily and effectively light a group of 15. Best of all, it folds up to about an 8" circle, making it easy to travel with and thus MUCH more likely to be used.
Highly recommend for wedding photographers looking for a fast, minimal setup in tricky lighting or for portrait photographers who need portable soft light on demand, no strobes or power outlets needed.
One note: be careful opening it. It can really pop out of that bag.

Would give this a five star but for two things. Inner diffuser would be good. And maybe it's just me, probably is, but I can't get the danged thing folded back to fit in the carry bag. Nice carry bag btw. Makes for nice portable soft light.

Provides nice soft light and is easy to set up. Does not provide an inner defuser, but for a small Sbox that is probably unnecessary. Would purchase again.

I have the WestCott 50' big mama as well, and I much like this smaller softbox. If I am in a rush I use umbrellas at the weddings. If I get a little bit of time then I set this up for later user. I like that I can access flash from outside without having to open the softbox like big mama.

This is a strong, light weight, softbox. I can take it anywhere. I mount it on the end of my mono pod, Hook my extra 580 flash and have a good sturdy light source for my helper to fill in with some extra light. He can hold it high and fill background or walk beside wedding couple to fill faces. Very inexpensive and durable.

Great value and quality for pricepoint. Fairly even light spread with only a little bit of a hot spot. Materials seem durable and well assembled. Flash bracket very adjustable. Ballhead feels a little week by it hasn't had any problems supporting the load or flash and radio-receiver and softbox.

I use this product both indoors and outdoors I especially love to use this softbox outdoors, for it's fairly easy to assemble and the hardware and softbox feel pretty durable and stable. I carry this setup practically everywhere for impromptu strobing sessions. If you have a flexTT5 and Speedlight then you'll want to grab this softbox.
