This is a very well built pack, item of a high quality (as everything from KATA). It has just the right amount of space inside for a professional full size camera body with a lens attached (per KATA's specification even with Canon 70-200 mm EF lens attached. I have plans to buy this lens at some point, so this is another reason why I bought this particular pack). I wanted something for every day use but practical (with a sling action) and well built. That's what this pack is. The only couple of things that I did not like about this pack made me rate it with four stars instead of five, but I will keep the pack.

      1. The main thing I do not like about this pack is that, in my opinion, KATA overdid the protective measures on the cover. In order to get you camera out you have to unzip a double-sided zipper, unlock a plastic clip, and unfasten a velcro before you can open the cover. I think it is too much. At least I would loose the velcro. It is annoyingly loud, especially if you are in a museum or any other place where you want to get your gear out quietly.

      2. Also, I do not like that much the main shoulder strap construction. While it is very strong and well padded, it is somewhat bulky. It consists of two pieces one of witch slides into another one on the end. Since both of them are padded, to my taste, it becomes somewhat thick in the upper portion where they overlap.

      3. It has only one outside non-padded pocket with a zipper and a pack-wide pocket (the whole back wall of the pack which is adjacent to your back when you carry it) with a zipper. This one will accommodate only soft thin items since it is going to rub against your back all the time (when you carry it on your back). In my opinion, extra pockets would not hurt.

      4. The inside padding is working well, but if you do not have a full set of lenses yet (in my case I have in there a full-frame DSLR body with Canon 24-105 EF lens attached, Canon 17-40 EF lens, and the battery charger) it is kind of loose. The flip-flap "ears" of the padding need some kind of support underneath (lenses) for a good camera body support. So far I do not have that and I have to watch it to make sure I do not loose the charger while opening the bag.

Overall it is a convenient, well-constructed, not-expensive photo equipment-in-your-face type of a bag. I think I will enjoy it more when I have all the equipment to load in (another lens and a flash).

I liked the idea of easy access to camera/lens combo for a small walkaround kit. But it proved awkward and fussy with too many clips/snaps/fussy heavy strap which reduced the usefulness of this bag. Example: to open bag to get camera, you squeeze the plastic release clip to access the opening flap, then pull back the flap from its velcro fastening, then pull back the double zipper to get inside. On the positive side, as with all Kata products, it seems well-made with good cushioning to protect contents.
In the end, however, I returned it.

I got this to compare with the large kata bag,,not quite big enough to hold Nikon D810 with lens attached Plus 80-400 lens in bag also.

Comments about Kata LighTri-315 DL Digital Torso-Pack:

I use it to carry D7100 with 24-70mm f/2.8 attached, 70-300mm, lens hoods, filter boxes, batteries, cleaning tools, etc. for hiking trips.
Build quality is very good, and it is well padded. Closure design is good. Rain cover is nice. It is very nice to be able to move it from back to front to take camera out without sitting the bag down.
I wish it can be carried on both left and right side shoulder (it can be but the chest stripe only works one way). I wish the equipment in bag could be upright when being carried instead of more than 45deg tilted so they are not pressured by each other.

Comments about Kata LighTri-315 DL Digital Torso-Pack:

Nice padded shoulder. Pack holds my body with a 18-140 lens attached plus I carry a 300 tele. I still have room for another smaller lens. I use the space filters, cell phone etc.. It was confusing
Regarding the straps and how to wear it. I watched a you tube video and fingered it out.

Really love the fact that the bag is super light and that you can move the pack position really easy...from front to back. I also, like the easy access to the camera and just the entire layout. Only thing I would suggest would be a couple additional pockets for odds and ends and a tri-pod holder or some way to attach a light tripod - that would have made the bag amazing. But really love it and definitely worth the money.

Nice case, very roomy. Overall I like this bag. I have had Lowepro in the past and I think their bags are a little better quality. For the price and functionality of this bag it is a great deal.

I put a Nikon D5100 with a 50mm attached, a SB400 flash, a Nikon 18-200, and various accessories in the bag. You could easily have a 18-200 attached and carry a 70-200, 50mm and small flash in this bag.

If I had gone, I would have been fine- it comes with a water-proof cover! Straps are adjustable, but then the excess just hangs loose, would like a tie of some sort to keep them out of the way. Great product.

Comments about Kata LighTri-315 DL Digital Torso-Pack:

Comments about Kata LighTri-315 DL Digital Torso-Pack:

I purchased the bag for a trip to Oxford, the Cotswolds and London. I wanted something light, something that could carry a body and two lenses ... and most of all something secure. The LighTri filled the bill, and then some.

Out in the English countryside, I toted the bag on my back ... though it was always easy enough to slide it around to the front for easy access to my camera. In urban settings like London, where I wanted a bit more security, I carried the bag up front. There's a nice secure slot in the back of the bag, too, to keep (and hide) your passport.

I never had occasion to use the accompanying rain cover ... but it was great to know it was there if I needed it. A small detail, perhaps, but it shows that the manufacturer was really thinking.

I had originally thought of using this bag almost exclusively for travel ... which would mean it would get an airing only once in a while. I'm sure now, though, that it's going to be my everyday bag.

This is my first camera back for my first DSLR and I couldn't be happier. The bag was a bit bigger than expected but that turns out for the best as I use it to carry other items with me besides just the camera. there is plenty of room for the camera body with a lens attached to it along with either two more lens or a lens and a flash. The bag is rugged, comfortable and does a great job of protecting the camera.

This is the best pro DSLR bag I ever had. Very comfortable, easy to quickly gain access, big enough to carry out my D3100 nikon dslr with 55-80mm and 55-300mm lenses, charger and SB-900 flash and I still have enough space for an Ipod with accessories or any other gadget even a 10" notebook or slate tablet. The pockets are adjustable and could be used safely to carry out any fragile and expensive devices. Very sportive look and very light.
I'm very satisfied and I'll recommend it for everyone.
