The backpack is made from lightweight, durable ripstop nylon and polyester mesh with Aeriform foam padding that is perforated super light laminated and reinforced EVA and EPE foams and a Yelloop interior that is a bright yellow material for viewing the contents with ease and it can attach optional Modi-Vers dividers. It also has a removable internal bottom pad, a specially formed foam encased spring steel Spine Guard for ultimate structural protection and an aluminum skeleton stave that arcs across the mid section of the pack. It also includes an Aeriform camera strap which is light, flexible and airy and can be used individually or interconnected to the 2 designated loops on the backpack harness thus providing frontal carrying for the camera by using the shoulders instead of having an additional strap around the neck.

The pack is carried by padded handle or an advanced ergonomics harness system which includes: a Gecko Harness which is molded EVA foam harness straps that feature 3D tapered thickness so as to provide extra cushioning where it counts, micro hatch texture secures position firmly and comfortably and the shapely contour fits the body organically. It also has a soft molded 3D foam back for comfort, support and ventilation, Clinch-Clasp sternum strap that is an aluminum clinch connection strap and a stabilizing waist strap with buckles. There are 2 specially designed connection loops for the optional Reflex E camera strap that is made to carry a digital SLR camera comfortably and take the camera load off the neck and an Insertrolley connection for optional wheel along transportation; when this is in use the harness simply tucks out of the way.

      Perfect Fit!!

      Whats in my bag? I have my Nikon D700, Nikon D3200, SB-700, 70-200mm, 24-70mm, 50mm, 35mm 18-55mm, 60mm Macro, Manfrotto tripod w/ 804RC2 head, 500gig...Read complete review

Whats in my bag? I have my Nikon D700, Nikon D3200, SB-700, 70-200mm, 24-70mm, 50mm, 35mm 18-55mm, 60mm Macro, Manfrotto tripod w/ 804RC2 head, 500gig Hard Drive, card reader, cables, memory cards, spare batteries, lens cloths, MacBook Air, charger, and various little accessories.

Pro: This bag feels super balanced with the chest and waist straps connected. I'm only 5'9 but this bag fits like a glove.

Cons: Every thing does have a down side but it's fairly minor. My issue is with it being a new bag, the gecko shoulder straps are a bit stiff and the rubber they're made of are a sticky (not tacky just not easily slide-ie). I find the rubber straps a bit combersome when quickly trying to swing around my bag to access gear. If you're wearing a t-shirt and have arm hair, The rubber straps can pull the hair. All that said, i've been told that over time they will break in like a new pair of shoes and fit you perfectly, so give them a chance, they are quite comfortable after the break-in period. Lastly, I would have loved more velcro dividers. Rather more, than less.

Pro: I LOVE the centre zip at the back to easily access my camera with out having to undo the large zipper and have everything fall out. The centre zip is just awesome.

Pro: Airline travel size is perfect. This bag fits as a carry on which is majorly key for me. No photographer wants to send their gear to the bottom of the plane and let some stranger toss it around.

I was going to go with the Bug 203 but because I have pretty broad shoulders I decided to go with the Bug 205 and i'm glad I did. The size fits beautifully and when i'm only carrying one body and 2-3 lenses, I have adequate room for a lunch & bottle of water and a lightweight jacket rolled up if the weather changes.

Even fully loaded the bag feels quite light which amazed me and I had no problem using this for long hikes or day trips. For longer hikes where I travel with my wife, I've rigged the bag to carry a second lightweight aluminum tripod for my D3200 as well as my Manfrotto and still have no issues with the weight.

Comments about Kata Pro-Light Bug-205 PL Backpack:

This bag holds EVERYTHING. I have two camera bodies (sometimes three) and at least three lenses that I have to carry to class and this bag makes it possible. It adjusts in every way imaginable and doesn't hurt my back at all. I'm so SO happy to be done using the shoulder bag I had. The light colored interior is amazing. I can actually find all my lenses and filters, etc. I live by the beach in Florida so the fact it has a waterproof cover is an enormous plus as well. I cannot say enough about this bag.

Why would you even look for another bag. These bags have it all!Lightweight, efficient, rain cover, water bottle holder, several exterior and interior pockets, yellow interior for easy viewing of equipment, and most favorite of all--the shoulder straps are a 3 layers foam! Just try it on, and you'll be sold!

I looked for a long time before I decided on a pack that could hold a couple serious DSLR bodies and lenses while still giving me mobility. It's got a few more straps and gadgets than it really needs, but it definitely helps me get my gear around conveniently. Sturdy, flexible, accessible space in a durable, protective design.

I also can carry a lot of other equipment it has great space. The bag is really comfortable and robust, very well constructed. I have no problem with flights it fits very well in the upper bag compartment.

I'm very happy with my election.

I've been shooting for over 10 years and had several expensive bags but this one is the best by far. I am a small girl and find that most camera bags that are large enough to hold everything are way too huge and heavy, not to mention look stupid on me. But this one easily holds everything I need and doesn't look bad. My only wish would be that it came with some extra foam dividers for a little more customization. I love how easy it is to access everything and that was my main concern. I can easily fit: 1 Canon 1DX with 70-200mm f2.8 lens attached, 1 Canon 1D Mk2 Body, 1 28-70mm f2.8, 1 16-35mm f2.8, 2 Speedlite 580EX, 2 battery packs for the flashes, my laptop, and little random accessories in the side pockets. The shoulder straps are well padded so it doesn't feel heavy either.

Comments about Kata Pro-Light Bug-205 PL Backpack:

I needed a big bag to carry two DSLRs, and 2-3 lenses. The main reason I chose this product was that insertrolley can be attached. The quality is really good, as it is sturdy. However the spacing wasn't as efficient. Upper part is curved and I find hard to utilize that space. I would rather have it straight. Also the depth narrows towards the top, which I found as minus. Other than that it is a good quality bag.

I have a Canon 5d with a 200mm lens a couple of extenders and a 24-70mm lens I like to carry. It is much much lighter than my previous larger Kata bag even with the same equipment. It handles everything I listed with ease. Very adjustable without the waist strap. Appears to be very well made and sturdy. No complaints. Lots of small individual packages to store little things in, well organized. Would definitely recommend.

I used this on a hiking photography trip fr 3 days. Very well designed. I needed the rain cover and it worked well. I was very impressed with the integration of the includied pouches, sand bag, camera strap. IT fit my 17 inch macbook snugly. I didn't use the tripod carrier system, but it fit well. Good fit and finish. It lacks the convenience of a side entrance, but I never got into a situation where I needed it. I suppose that it would be best if you had to do some scrambling on rocks and wanted to stow away your investment quickly so you don't fall on top of it. But the pack is well priced in terms of its competition.

I chose this backpack for urban hiking. by that I mean airport and auto travel. I carries my 17" laptop, lenses and camera body as well as accessories. The shoulder harness was one of the selling points as well. Completely full it is 30 pounds. I wanted something that was compact. That said I almost wish I had purchased the next size up.

First off, the bag is heavier than I thought it would be. Even after doing a non-scientific estimation based on what the website said it weighed, it still feels heavier. However, it's not TOO heavy. It's comfortable so far, and I love that there's space for my 17" MacBookPro. The easy quick access to the camera is perfect, and one of the reasons I went for this as our new camera case. It might be a little big for every day use, but it's comfort makes up for it's bulkiness.

I do a lot of one day shoots & have to lug my gear around the city all the time. This backpack allows me to carry my laptop, 2 large camera bodies, 4-5 lenses and all the gear that goes along with it.

The bag is very durable, and packing/unpacking is very easy as the inside is very easy to customize.

The bag also came with an attachment to allow for carrying my tripod, as well as a waterproof cover that can cover the whole bag.

I highly recommend this bag to all photographers who want to be able to pack a lot of gear AND a laptop.
