Veho's VCC-005-MUVI-HD10 Mini HD Action Camcorder is an economic, wearable camcorder with 1080p HD recording and digital still capture. I purchased this camera to take on patrol. I needed something with a wide angle and ease of use. The unit powers up quickly and begins recording quickly. The quality of the video during daylight is exceptional. It does get grainy in low light. It is well constructed and seems rugged and has a nice accessory kit included.
A couple of negatives:
The kit does not come with a wall charger. The connection ports are not covered which for an "action" camera seems silly. It makes it very easy for the connections to get wet or dirty. A removable rubber cover would be a sensible addition. The camera had the letters MUVI very large in white on the face of the unit which draws attention to it.
If you're considering buying this unit, please not that you will need a class 10 micro SD card to record in full 1080p. A class 6 will only record in 720p. Also, the recording format is Quicktime, so if you don't have editing software that can manage Quicktime, then you might want to reconsider.

I was looking for a camera to use as a helmet cam to take video while riding my motorcycle, so I was looking for something small. My first surprise was how large it was. I am familiar with othe Veho cameras, and expected this to be a similar size. I should have reviewed the specifications better. My fault, not the camera's.
I liked the idea of the remote, and it worked very well. Once paired with the camera I was able to take snapshots and start recording with no problems. The video and pictures are much clearer than I had expected.
The downside is when I got home after the first time using the camera, I found that I am unable to turn it off. It appears that the power switch has completely seperated from the internals. The camera was clipped to my jacket for a short test ride. I was able to finally turn the camera off by attaching it to the computer and I can turn it on again by pressing the record button.

I researched all the sports cameras out there. A friend went with the MUVI and I was jealous from day one. It's functionality is excellent, video quality is very good, audio is as good as can be expected. But the combination of built in screen and the remote that does both video and stills is amazing.

I use this camera in the field, while working as a Private Investigator and Process Server. Daytime recording is great, even if you are not using the highest video setting. Low light video is not as good. While in the field, I use a usb hookup in the truck to recharge the battery. The on and off switch is large and easy to use. The forward facing light is bright, but can be turned off. I removed the white letters in the front with a 800 grit sand paper. The time is displayed in military (24hr.) format. Date and time stamp can be turned off. The display on the back can be turned off. The touch sensitive buttons can be locked. The "on" indicator light (red) and the "recording" indicator light (green), facing backwards, can not be turned off. Easy file download. The video is ready to use with windows or simular media players. I have used this camera as a dash camera as well. The camcorder can be mounted on the dash with one of the many mounting brackets, it comes with. The only thing that bothers me is the European date format. It is dd/mm/yyyy, instead of the US format of mm/dd/yyyy. I have not found any option in the setup to change the date display. Since I use this camcorder in the legal field, and recordings can become evidence, it would be helpfull to change the date format to avoid confusion.

I use this camera while working as a law enforcement officer. Daytime video is top notch. Nighttime video is not quite as good, but better than nothing. Battery lasts about 3 hrs so having a usb hookup in the car is handy. On and Off switches are large and easy to manipulate even with gloves. The forward facing light and MUVI on the front are bright. I used electric tape to tape over these which solved this problem. This camera comes with many mounting options. Ive used this camera as a dash camera as well which can be mounted on the dash with one of the mounting kits it comes with or simple attached to the passenger side sun visor and flipped down when recording. Works great.

I bought this for work. I am a LEO and wanted proof when I am complained on. It works great and the 1080 looks great. I lowered mine to 720 because of the file size and it still looks good. I also ordered a class 10 32G card. The one that came with it just isn't big enough. It gets grainy in the dark but you can still see what's going on. The only con I can think of at this point is maybe a little better sound quality on the camera itself. Sounds fine when played back on the TV. I also mounted it on my mountain bike and hit the trails. It recorded some great crashes. It has lots of great uses and I have received many compliments and inquiries.

I use this to document my street photography activities and it works very well for that purpose. I've only owned it a little over a week, but I've already used it at multiple public locations and it has functioned very well.
I really like the wide angle lens on this camcorder. It was just what I was looking for. It was easy for me to get used to the menu system since there aren't a lot of menus and sub-menus. I've tested it at 1280x720@60p and WVGA and both recorded video types produced good quality video for my purposes of documenting my photo activities.
I've read some criticisms about the beeping noise the camera makes. Most beeps can be turned off via the menu system. You cannot turn off the beep when starting and stopping video recording though. Although, when I am outside in a public space, even I have a hard time hearing the beep.
