Comments about Propellerhead Software Record Reason Duo Student/Teacher - Software Bundle (Academic):
I did enough research to decide that Reason/Record was the software I wanted for a home studio. I'm running it with a Win.7 64, i5, 4Ghz mem. I had sound driver problems from the start, as well as compatibility issues with my Lexicon Omega interface...still won't work with Record. I sent multiple emails to Propellerhead support, and 3 weeks later have not gotten a response. However, hats off to the people on propellerheads fourms. They alone helped solve most of my issues. The software is Awesome, the company has lost my respect.

Comments about Propellerhead Software Record Reason Duo Student/Teacher - Software Bundle (Academic):
I recently started using Reason 5.0 to make music to accompany video games. My background is 11 years of piano, 7 years composing, a class in how to use Reason 5.0, and way too much video gaming. In Reason, you have more freedom than any competing sequencing software. Your sounds are raw, so they don't sound as good right off the bat like they would in FrootyLuips, but you have effects given to you that allow you total control over your own sound. The banks are gigantic. The synthesizers are powerful. You have enough effects for anything. Reason 6.0's added features aren't worth paying/waiting for.
Also, you get Record. Record is for live clip samples and mixing them. It's also super powerful, and you have freedom. If all you want to do is live clips, get ProTools, Record is the next best thing, and works as a wonderful partner with Reason. Use it to combine live samples and sequencing.
