The 4th generation of iPod does it all! We are using it primarily at home through our wireless router for Skype audio communication. It is a pity that we cannot use the cameras of iPod in Skype or any other platform except the Apple's "Face Time". The device is easy to setup and the display is bright and clear specially for indoor applications. iTune installation requirement for iPod, to me, is a major drawback of Apple's mobile devices, in particular when you are not using Apple's operational system. The iTune software and drivers for example are not optimized for MS windows operating systems (OS). I had driver conflicts with XP and Windows7 after iTune installation. Admittedly you can't be optimal in all frontiers. A savvy user can disable some of the start-up services and features of iTune after the installation on other OS to limit the performance loss. In general it is a reliable product for browsing, voice communication, and music.

The retina display is great but unfortunately the new iPod Touch does NOT have the same 5MP camera as the iPhone. It has a 480x320 pixel front camera (VGA) and the rear camera is less than 1 megapixel (960 x 720 pixels which is .7 to be exact).
So, this looks to be a great product unless you, like me, really wanted a decent camera in it. It is beyond me why Apple purposely put a low resolution camera (with no flash) in an otherwise excellent product. I guess they were concerned it would impact sales of the iPhone if it were too nice. Also, the new photo apps like HDR that Steve Jobs demonstrated will only work w/ the iPhone, not this iPod touch.

There are good reasons to buy a 4th gen Ipod Touch. One, if you are replacing a lost or stolen unit it fits the docks and accessories you already have as opposed to buying a new 5th gen unit. Also, it costs less than the new gen unit, which allows you to buy more stuff! Also, there is essentially no learning curve with the 4th gen unit if you already had one. And finally, all the apps work with the 4th gen units, no waiting for new apps to come on the market.

I received an iPod 2 years ago for Christmas. It became an everyday part of my life. So imagine my horror when the glass broke, not once but three times because of my own clumsiness and bad luck. I started to research the web for a new one but all I found were the same prices for the iPod I wanted. That is until I found B&H. Within the time frame I was given, I had my new iPod. I can once again check my email, do web searches, watch movies and make and receive phone calls and text messages. Life is good again!

I love this Ipod, first of all it`s cute. It`s light weighted, easy to use and for sure is more than an Ipod. I use it, to listen the music, check the weather and i like that this Ipod has maps. but no navigation. it`s possible to download navigation but to be honest, i would prefer navigation to be already installed and ready to use, the day i got the Ipod. camera quality is not great, so if i were apple i would change it. other than that, i am more than happy having my new Ipod.

I've always loved iPods - simple and easy to use without many issues. They're also dynamic and one can usually find a way to do just about anything with them if you really set your mind to it. Now that there is a iPod that does Facetime and iMessage, it's hard to beat. I already have over 10 HD movies not to mention multiple apps and a load of music loaded and am only about 1/3 full. Great product!

I received an iPod 2 years ago for Christmas. It became an everyday part of my life. So imagine my horror when the glass broke, not once but three times because of my own clumsiness and bad luck. I started to research the web for a new one but all I found were the same prices for the iPod I wanted. That is until I found B&H. Within the time frame I was given, I had my new iPod. I can once again check my email, do web searches, watch movies and make and receive phone calls and text messages. Life is good again!

I love this Ipod, first of all it`s cute. It`s light weighted, easy to use and for sure is more than an Ipod. I use it, to listen the music, check the weather and i like that this Ipod has maps. but no navigation. it`s possible to download navigation but to be honest, i would prefer navigation to be already installed and ready to use, the day i got the Ipod. camera quality is not great, so if i were apple i would change it. other than that, i am more than happy having my new Ipod.

I've always loved iPods - simple and easy to use without many issues. They're also dynamic and one can usually find a way to do just about anything with them if you really set your mind to it. Now that there is a iPod that does Facetime and iMessage, it's hard to beat. I already have over 10 HD movies not to mention multiple apps and a load of music loaded and am only about 1/3 full. Great product!
