I purchased these because of a review I read in Wired. Now, it's possible I received a bad set, but they were horrible. No low end whatsoever, tinny, just horrible. I returned them immediately and bought the Shure SE215s. Those are fantastic. Great response across the entire range.

these do not compare favorably with any other in ear headphones I've tried over the years, had a chance to compare them with a few I have here and with a few regular closed cans and these had to go back.

Comments about mc5 Noise-Isolating In-Ear Stereo Headphones (Red):

I purchased these in order to make my 1 Room studio work. I need isolating headphones so I could stand in front of an amp or drum and move the mic around and hear only the mic pickup. These do the job great! If I need some more isolation, I simply add a pair of firing range ear muffs and even better.

The sound quality is quite good. It's fairly flat, but not incredibly detailed. I certainly wouldn't do any mixing or critical listening with these, but for my purposes their perfect.

I primarily purchased these phones to experience great sound while exercising. They have great overall sound. A bit wimpy on the bass, but vocals and instrumentals come out crisp while still remaining warm. Very easy to listen to. The different ear adaptors are all pretty comfortable, and the 'default' ones have no trouble staying in while running. One complaint is that they isolate the environment so much it become difficult to hear if something important is happening.

I use these headphones everyday on the train and they are exactly what I was looking for. The sound is very clean, the cleanest I have heard from headphones. They provide excellent noise isolation, almost too good. I use these everyday and they seem durable up through now. The included case is nice too when it's time to stash them and get to work.

Comments about mc5 Noise-Isolating In-Ear Stereo Headphones (Black):

These are well-made alternatives to the pricier ER4P. No, they don't sound as good. Bass is a little more bloated, midrange recessed, and treble does not have as much detail. But they offer good isolation and very decent quality for the money. Very usable on the train or subway.

In my ears the sound is bass less.
Can´t adapt any tips to have a good noise cancel.
