Comments about Archos 28 internet tablet (4GB):

Enjoying every moment using this tablet which exceeded my expectations.
I had a few questions and emailed Archos, neither reply nor an acknowledgement was received.
I would recommend this tablet but would include the warning "you're on your own" if you need customer support!

Comments about Archos 28 internet tablet (4GB):

I have purchased the Archos 28 to use it exclusively as a PDA. The device is hardly larger than a business card and actually fits in my business card holder, which I always keep in my shirt's pocket.

The flexibility of the Android OS and the various apps available allowed me to adapt the Archos 28 to my needs. It does a good job of replacing my good old Palm Pilot. My 2600 contacts are easily searchable (with the help of the "Contact Search Fast" app), I can check my email on the go (using K 9 Mail) and view / edit my calendar.

All these productivity apps are sync'ed via my Google account, and I can still use my Agendus / Palm Desktop on my PC. Seamless transition.

An added bonus is that the Archos 28 can be used as a dictaphone (good microphone).

Of course, I also have a small family photo album and a few videos. I have no music on this device, so I am unable to comment on its MP3 player ability.

The Archos 28 is one of the smallest PDAs in the world, and certainly the most powerful in its size category. For that particular use, it is a good replacement for your old Palm Pilot...

The device can access Android Market only through a third-party app, and keeping the Google-branded Android Apps seems to bloat and freeze it. All in all, it is best to avoid Android Market, and find the .apk files for the apps you want to install through a Google search on your PC, then transfer them to your Archos.

I am definitely going to stick to the Android OS, but I may upgrade to a larger device (probably Archos 43) only because my 52 y.-o. eyesight is not sharp enough.
