The Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 8350 Projector is engineered with one purpose: putting high quality images on the screen.
The heart of the system is a 3LCD optical engine which harnesses 2,000 ISO lumens at a crisp contrast ratio of a 50,000:1 backed by a native resolution of 1920 by 1080. The Fujinon 2.1x zoom lens, a brand favored by cinematographers, fulfills the promise of these specs with brilliant screen images up to 1080p.
A high-speed dual-layer auto iris function adjusts light output up to 60 times per second based on the gamma and black / white levels of your projected content, yielding perfectly adjusted images and the deepest blacks. Unlike other projectors, the PowerLite 8350 runs at a whisper quiet 22dB (Eco mode), ensuring that you won't be distracted from the on-screen action while the 4,000 hour lamp life provides further peace of mind and greater enjoyment.

Bought this as a replacement for a 4-year-old 720P Panasonic I paid nearly twice as much for and am amazed at the picture. Sharp, bright, very good contrast for the money. I don't have a dedicated room so there is always some ambient light. This projector is bright enough I barely notice. Lens shift is manual, but much easier to adjust than my previous projector. Powers up quickly, minimal fan noise, excellent color out of the box. An amazing buy at this price point.

Very nice projector for this price point. Have occasionally got an error message at start up saying unit needs to be serviced, but upon reboot the message goes away and unit worked fine. Fan is very quiet.

I was delighted when I first hooked satellite television up to the projector. it is so good I wished I had spent a little more for the 3D model ! I needs a darkened room to shine in and it requires a rats nest of wires since it has no built in audio , but the picture is beautiful. It was well worth the cost and I have been amazing my friends since I set it up.

We have been using the projector for a year now and it has operated very well and makes it enjoyable to watch movies. The higher resolution increase the pleasure of watching. Besides the picture equality I like the ease of adjusting the picture up/down and side to side, inside of having to move the projector or screen around.

I’ve owned my 8350 projector for a little over two years. The lamp recently burnt out with only 350 hours on the life. I contacted Epson and without question they provided me with a replacement lamp. We purchased our Epson 8350 projector in May 2011 as an upgrade for our outdoor theater on our deck. We have the projector installed on a cart that easily rolls out back for family and friends movie night. During the off season, we installed it in my brother's home theater. He liked it so much that he bought one as well. The projector has been extremely reliable and produces a great 1080p picture. I would definitely recommend this projector for others.

This projector is nothing short of AMAZING!! Super clear picture at 136 inches... It can also be viewed with a great picture even though the lights are on!! This is something I was a bit worried about prior to purchasing but it does work great in a average lit room. I am super satisfiied with this unit!

I did my homework and searched reviews and shopped around. Once I decided on the Powerlite 8350, there was no turning back. But more impressive was how easy it was to ceiling mount, set up, and get started. Just in time for a Super Bowl Party and the picture is amazing, as good as any flat panel TV. But BIGGER!! I love it!

Summary:
- May not have 3D and the bells and whistles of the new generation, but this projector is a great 2D performer at a very competitive price. Unless you are a 3D fan, this is a projector you can buy with confidence and be very happy with once you get it home. Flexible configuration options are a stealth "killer feature" for this projector.
Usage:
In basement theater/entertainment room, ceiling mounted 16; back from a 120" Elite screen. Sound run through a wired 5.1 speaker set.
Pros:
- Brightness, color, and contrast are all very good. I had intended to mount this 12' back from the screen but a poorly placed can light ended that dream. Luckily this projector has enough power and flexibility to handle a 120" screen at 16' distance easily with good image quality.
- Very flexible setup. The benefits of the long zoom lens are easy to overlook for a home theater beginner (like me) but you'll thank yourself. They make this projector viable for table mount, cabinet mount, ceiling mount, etc with very little hassle.
- The projector is very quiet; fan noise is not noticeable at all even when you are sitting directly under it and in a quiet scene.
- Haven't had to use the warranty, but comes with a good one.
Cons:
- No built-in speakers. This probably doesn't matter to most, but it is the difference in "plug in and run out-of-the-box" and "oh crud, I guess I need to set up the surround sound speakers right now." Some other Epsons have 10W speakers built in; would have been nice if this one did.
- No 3D -- it isn't supposed to, and anyone buying this projector now is probably looking based on price rather than latest features. Still, if you care about 3D you need to look at the newer models.

This was my first projector and I could not be more pleased. Not only with the performance of the unit but with Epson customer service as well. We use the projector in a permanent set up with a ceiling mount on a 110" movie screen for family movie nights, sporting events and for the kids xbox gaming. It has a bright and brilliant picture even in daylight settings. Easy to set up, easy to operate. The only issue I experienced was my lamp burnt out after only 600 hours, they are suppose to last 2000+. This turned out to be a non-issue since after a quick call to the Epson customer service they shipped me a replacement lamp at no cost. A+++ service!!! I look forward to many years of enjoying this projector!!

For the home theater enthusiast you can't go wrong with this projector. If your comparing features and performance nothing comes closes in its price range. It has a gorgeous picture and plenty of options for connectivity. The 4000 hour estmiated lamp life was a huge buying factor for me. The customer service at Epson is top notch and i would recommend their products to anyone.

- Very flexible setup. The benefits of the long zoom lens are easy to overlook for a home theater beginner (like me) but you'll thank yourself. They make this projector viable for table mount, cabinet mount, ceiling mount, etc with very little hassle.
- The projector is very quiet; fan noise is not noticeable at all even when you are sitting directly under it and in a quiet scene.
- Haven't had to use the warranty, but comes with a good one.
Cons:
- No built-in speakers. This probably doesn't matter to most, but it is the difference in "plug in and run out-of-the-box" and "oh crud, I guess I need to set up the surround sound speakers right now." Some other Epsons have 10W speakers built in; would have been nice if this one did.
- No 3D -- it isn't supposed to, and anyone buying this projector now is probably looking based on price rather than latest features. Still, if you care about 3D you need to look at the newer models.

This was my first projector and I could not be more pleased. Not only with the performance of the unit but with Epson customer service as well. We use the projector in a permanent set up with a ceiling mount on a 110" movie screen for family movie nights, sporting events and for the kids xbox gaming. It has a bright and brilliant picture even in daylight settings. Easy to set up, easy to operate. The only issue I experienced was my lamp burnt out after only 600 hours, they are suppose to last 2000+. This turned out to be a non-issue since after a quick call to the Epson customer service they shipped me a replacement lamp at no cost. A+++ service!!! I look forward to many years of enjoying this projector!!

Beware. Bulbs are rated 4000 hours. Mine have lasted 1000 hours. I'm on my fourth bulb in 2 years.

Epson got me. The Bulb is rated for 4,000 hours but it only lasts 1,000. Epson knows this. They know they have a problem. Yet they continue to lie about a 4,000 hour life on the bulb. Shame on you Epson. I'm on my fourth bulb at the 2 year mark.

For the home theater enthusiast you can't go wrong with this projector. If your comparing features and performance nothing comes closes in its price range. It has a gorgeous picture and plenty of options for connectivity. The 4000 hour estmiated lamp life was a huge buying factor for me. The customer service at Epson is top notch and i would recommend their products to anyone.
