I had purchased the "Coby MP-828 Touch" MP3 player for my 15 year old daughter for X-mas due to her active school life, & for the price if she breaks or it's stolen then it is cheaper to replace than the prev I-Pod that I bought which was pretty expensive and is now broken, which cost alot more than the "Coby" that my daughter is really happy with. It does the same as the Ipod & a camera as well as not having to deal with the software. With this all she or I have to do is drop what we want in the folder when it is connected and away we go. I also enjoy being able to expand the player w/ a Micro SD card which is something that the Ipod does not offer. The other thing that we enjoy about the Coby is being able to charge it by connecting it to an open USB port on her TV or cable box. The only down side is that the touch screen is not as responsive as some of the other brands, however we do have the option of using a stylus that some of the other brands do not offer. It does everything that Coby says it does and if you are buying one for your child they are worth it for the cash, however if you are looking for something for someone older like yourself I recomend something a little better.

*Affordability
*lightweight / "stylish"
Cons:
* Lag time with touchscreen
* Video files take an extremely long time to
synch with device (45-60min for 1 gig file)
* When looking at photos, it is defaulted to
thumbnail - there is a lag (est 10 seconds)
while the photos load on the screen;
you will not be able to manover through the
screen/menus.
Recommending for anyone who would like a cheap mp3 player that has a few extras

You know a product is not well-made when it comes with a paper begging you not to return the product if you have a problem with it, but instead asking you to contact customer service. It's as if the manufacturer knows its products are defective and not easy to use. I bought this product as I was looking for a decent, small mp3 player that was[$]. Online it looked much nicer than the equally priced Sansa player and it came with a camera and more GB space. Unfortunately, when it arrived, it looked and felt cheap (you get what you pay for). More importantly, the touchscreen is not sensitive and requires lots of unnecessary tapping to navigate (very frustrating). Also, the screen quality is so poor that if you don't look at it perfectly straight, you can't see the icons well; they become blurry. It's like the screens from 10 - 15 years ago. I can't comment on the sound because I couldn't get the device to work. I tried it on two computers and decided it just wasn't worth a lot of time to troubleshoot the issues. Don't waste your money or time on this cheap device. I wouldn't even give it to a 10 year old.

The good- The Coby MP828 does boast a lot of storage, (and a mini SD card slot),the touchscreen is decently responsive and the Coby Media Manager arranges your' music nicely.The bad- The cheapness of the product really shines through while listening to your' music. It adds backround noise, the volume adjusts in huge intervals, and if you click a button while listening the song gets choppy for a second. The built in speakers aren't really worth much, and the controls are somewhat confusing.Summary- You paid $35 for a touchscreen mp3 player, and guess what you got- a[$] touchscreen mp3 player. (You really are paying for the touchscreen I think.)

Exactly what I was looking for.....a cheap mp3 player that holds a bunch of music and is easy to use. I haven't had any issues. Easy to add music and well thought out user controls. Sounds great (haven't tried the headphones they sent with it). Gets plenty loud enough. I recommend this player.

Paid $ shipped. The best deal I could find on the net for a 8 gig mp3 play. The screen resolution and features are nothing to brag about. Wished it had option to save more than one set of "favorites" like my $ Walkman had, but again you get what you pay for. For someone looking for an inexpensive, basic player with good memory this will work. If I drop it or break it I'm not bummed like I was when my Walkman fell on the ground stopped working!

This product is really cheap. The touchscreen is hard to use, the speakers are tinny sounding, the camera is HQ (horrible quality!), and the music is hard to manage. I was not impressed with the Mp3 player, but I was VERY impressed with B&H's help with my situation. They responded to my request to return it and I was able to get a full refund. While I do not suggest this product, I love B&H.

i bought this as a replacement for my sanza fuze and couldnt afford apple this was excellently priced i use it just for out and about purposes. the menus are easy and simple to use connectivity to the computer is a breeze my only complaint is that it does tend to be a bit slow when adding music to it but otherwise its a good buy for the price. i reccomend it

Daily use for traveling to work and back in car and on longer family trips.
Feels flimsy, but holds up well-standard smart phone protectors fit well. Light, yet durable. Bought it for long trip and it held up well (even fell asleep listening and found it under me in morning no worse for wear.
I have not used video or photo functions as I boutght it for music and audio files. screen interface is simple and straight forward. Better than others I looked at in this category.
Sounds great hooked up to external speakers, built-ins nice jesture good for audio (voice) not music.
