Need some solid support? The Benro A-1691 Travel Angel Alum. Tripod (Trans-Functional) W/B0 Ballhead is a professional-quality tripod with lightweight, high-quality aluminum alloy legs for top performance--plus, one leg is detachable for use as a 4.33' (1.32 m) monopod. In addition, magnesium is used for all die-cast parts--despite its lower weight, magnesium is more rigid than aluminum, and has the same strength per volume.

This Travel Angel tripod is easy to carry, so you'll have it with you at all times. Travel Angel's unique 180° foldover design allows it to be collapsed into a very compact size that can easily fit into backpacks or luggage. When you need quick set-up, excellent maximum height and a rigid, stable support, the Travel Angel is an impressive performer.

This tripod also features individual leg angle adjustments, anti-rotation leg design, a reversible center column with spring loaded weight hook, anti-dust and moisture rubber leg lock grips.

The included B0 Ballhead is a lightweight (0.6 lb/0.3 kg) head with separate lock and drag adjustment knobs, a quick-release clamp that's compatible with an Arca Swiss QR system, and a 360° graduated panning scale for precise image alignment.

5-section legs.
Includes a small, lightweight ball head B0 to match the size of the tripod; with a calibrated panning base, separate lock and drag adjustment knobs, and a dual quick release locking system.
Offers two leg-angle settings to accommodate uneven terrain or awkward shooting situations.
Removable Leg and Top Plate screw together to Convert from Tripod to Compact Monopod without tools.

Anti-twist leg sections and a grooved center column make setup and breakdown quick and easy.
A thick layer of closed-cell nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) provides a comfortable yet firm grip when carrying your Benro tripod.

Removable rubber and stainless steel spike feet  provide a secure grip both indoors and outdoors.
Retractable spring-loaded hook can be used to add stability with a sand bag or equipment bag.

Comments about Benro A-1691 Travel Angel Alum. Tripod (Trans-Functional) W/B0 Ballhead:

i don't travel a lot with it, and I think it's a bit heavy. I thought the monopod was a great feature, but I haven't used it yet. I also don't use any heavy lens, so this tripod is good for what I use. I just wish it was a bit lighter.

Comments about Benro A-1691 Travel Angel Alum. Tripod (Trans-Functional) W/B0 Ballhead:

        Very sturdy. Quite light.
Easy to setup and fold back.
I really liked the rubber grips to lock and unlock. Feels so good in the hand.

Buy a remote clicker with this and you're all set.

Only grouse and maybe I'm asking for too much here is, I wish the setup/fold back time was even quicker than what it is now.

Used for mounting camera during travel in both hiking/climbing and general airline. The tripod is a little wobbly when using a Nikon D7000 with a 28-300 lens, but overall it is light packs small, and easy to setup - great for what it's intended for.

Comments about Benro A-1691 Travel Angel Alum. Tripod (Trans-Functional) W/B0 Ballhead:

I purchased this tripod to replace the Star-D tripod that I have been using for the last 35 years. The Travel Angel is one-half the weight which is great as I use the tripod mostly when hiking. It is also much smaller when folded which is great. It will take awhile to get used to the ball head, but the Travel Angel sets up quickly and is steady. I like the ability to convert it to a monopod, which is handy when I need something I can move about with quickly. I like the way it folds and the two positions of the legs which lets me get my camera close to the ground for taking pictures of flowers. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

Well built and easy to use. Ballhead makes for easy adjustments. Have not yet used the monopod, but that may come in handy as well.

Comments about Benro A-1691 Travel Angel Alum. Tripod (Trans-Functional) W/B0 Ballhead:

I bought this tripod for a trip to Europe. I couldn't be happier with the purchase. It is a very sturdy and Lightweight tripod. The Ball head holds my camera firmly with no slippage. The removable monopod is invaluable when you are not allowed to use a tripod. Great price of equipment when you want to save on space and weight.

Comments about Benro A-1691 Travel Angel Alum. Tripod (Trans-Functional) W/B0 Ballhead:

This is a great alternative to the Gitzo Series 1 Traveler series (1542T, etc.). It's very compact and light, and the perfect hiking companion. It comes with a carrying bag, OK ball head, and even converts to a monopod (although it's really too short). The legs are really why I bought this, though the bottom section of the 5 section legs are pretty skinny. I recently returned from a trip to Arizona using my D800, 16-35, and 80-200 f/2.8 and had mostly tack sharp results. The one time I didn't I believe one of the legs was up against the guard rail on one of the Grand Canyon overlooks, and those vibrations did have an effect on my pictures (but that was my oversight). But as long as you use good discipline - mirror lockup & remote release, weight it down with a bag if you can, etc, you should be able to get sharp results. Even using my large-for-this-tripod 80-200 I got tack sharp results. The head, as I expected, is just OK. I will probably eventually get a Markins Q3T head to go with it. I also bought a RRS L-bracket for my D800 which works great with this head, and I attached the plate that came with the Benro head to my 80-200 foot, and it works and fits great on that. For $[$], this is a great deal, and packs easily in carry-on luggage. It's perfect for traveling and hiking since it packs up so short and is quite light.

Comments about Benro A-1691 Travel Angel Alum. Tripod (Trans-Functional) W/B0 Ballhead:

I bought this for travel. My other tripods are too hard to pack. I end up with a larger than necessary suitcase or as an uncomfortable carry on. This litte but sturdy tripod fit the bill! I am 6'3" so it is a tad short for me to use all the time in the studio in comfort but not really an issue. I like the weight load it can carry . I like the compact travel friendly size and weight. I like that it comes with a carrying case. I like that it comes with a descent head. I like to make travel movies with my go pro and dslr. Having a tripod that can pan for video and multiple exposure panoramic shots is key! This works well for both! I like that I can have a mono pod on hand in case use long glass. It's small enough I am considering buying another one to always leave in the car. I like to use this to hold a small soft box for maternity shoots. I also clip reflectors to this for an extra set of hands. All together I like it. Good value fair price for well made product. Light weight enough I haven't felt the need to get carbon fiber sturdy and strong. Perfect for travel. I will use it in the Colorado rockies, Florida, HawAii.. Good investment easy to take almond especially if you don't know if you will need a tripod.

Use this tripod for nature, landscape photography, and travel photography with Canon 5D. I do quite a bit of night photography and this is a very handy tripod to have around. It is lightweight and sets up quickly. I use it with the PCL-5DIII L-Bracket for Canon 5D Mark III Without Battery Grip, and I can quickly switch from portrait to landscape, however the L-bracket was a bit pricey. I would recommend this tripod as a good lightweight tripod, and a good value.
