I'm about a year into my photographic imaging degree and at our school we shoot everything. My tripod has to be there for it all. Studio, Environmental,Night,Landscape,Nature,Composites and HDR,Macro,Sports, ect. The list is endless and so are the possibilities with this tripod.
If the Swiss Army made a tripod...this would be it. I'm 5'11" and this thing is shorter than my knee when folded and taller than my head when extended. Need a low angle? no problem the legs will lay flat on the ground. Odd surface? got it covered legs lock in various positions. Tripod not allowed? got that covered too. This thing turns into a monopod! Without tools! How great is that?! With all that (and the price) it must be built a little on the cheap side right? Wrong! This thing is Solid. It's rated for over 26lb and I can believe it. All the joints and connections are done right. If anything it's a little heavy for it's size. It comes with rubber and spiked feet and a great padded case with a pocket on the inside.
Another higher priced manufacturer makes one like this...in fact they did it first. I'm here to tell you though Benro did it best and at half the price.
All that said I would change one thing and it's purely preference. I prefer the flip lock legs to the twist lock. In my opinion it slows down the operation a little, but far from a deal breaker.
So, if you're looking for a jack of all trades with a specialty in quality, versatility, and compactness at a great price...congrats, you found it.

It's a lightweight, easy-to-fold - a great tripod for travel/wildlife/landscape/etc. photography. But when you try to untighten the legs in order to strech them out, be careful -- One day even after only several uses of the tripod, the inner plastic pieces all the sudden fell off from two of the legs --- and one of the screws that keeps the legs stretched fell off too. I mean, I was in shock. That shouldn't happen. You don't want that to happen in the middle of taking great shots.

Comments about Benro A-2691 Travel Angel Alum. Tripod (Trans-Functional) W/B1 Ballhead:
A very well made product at a very attractive price. The Travel Angel is very well made and feature rich. Both the tripod and the included ball head are made for heavy duty, supporting a load up to 26 pounds. The quick release plate mechanism makes mounts and dismounts a breeze. An additional bonus was the ability to detach one leg of the tripod for use as a monopod. Finally, since I am 6'4", I am very satisfied with the height of this tripod - fairly hard to find one that is both easily portable and high enough to prevent constant stooping during long shoots.

Comments about Benro A-2691 Travel Angel Alum. Tripod (Trans-Functional) W/B1 Ballhead:
This is a sturdy tripod that also folds down to fit in a carry on bag. For travel it also has the advantage of NOT using leg locks but the segments are loosened or tightened with a twist. This system is not as quick as a leg lock lever but makes for a more compact package. Also, leg lock levers tend to catch on everything. The ball head that comes with the tripod operates smoothly and the quick release does what it is supposed to do. I'm thoroughly satisfied with this product.

Allen screw on the head shipped loose. However, allen wrenches shipped with tripod. Once I found them, works great. Sturdy and I dont find the alloy to be prohibitively heavy.

Comments about Benro A-2691 Travel Angel Alum. Tripod (Trans-Functional) W/B1 Ballhead:
Good mid range tripod. Alloy works well enough for the non professional. I wish an Allen was provided for the set screw that seems to be shipped loose on the head. I didn't have a set handy for my first trial so that was a bit frustrating. After the set screw was tightened up it has worked just fine.

I really should have bought this tripod initially. My previous tripod whilst was great functionally was just not as transportable as this little baby... it has a fantastic capability in terms of maximum load and stability, but will fold up into a nice little package that you can slide into a backpack... or suitcase if your travelling...the ball head is also nice and stabile, means having this support a DSLR with a heavy 70-200mm 2.8 IS lens is no problem....would recommend without doubt.

Great gear to bring along for travel and outdoor shoots. The carbon fiber version is lighter if you would spend the extra $. This is a very solid platform and quick to set up and fold up. One leg can be removed and used as a monopod. The B1 ballhead is more than sufficient for my purpose.

Comments about Benro A-2691 Travel Angel Alum. Tripod (Trans-Functional) W/B1 Ballhead:
Bought this tripod as something I can travel with, but also to use for all general needs. The tripod and head works great with my 7D with vert grip, and 24-105 f4. I also tried it with a 70-200 2.8 and it worked just fine. In both cases this was stable and I wasnt worried about it falling. (this is without the bag hanging for extra support)
When it's fully extended, with 5 legs extensions, it seems not as strong, but that's to be expected with a 5-leg vs 3-leg, and something that folds up very small as a travel tripod. I also enjoyed the case that comes along with this--can definitely fit it in a suitcase for traveling.
Mono-pod is simple to change to, although I am considering buying another head so I don't have to totally take apart the tripod for the monopod.
Overall i really like this and would buy again. I do wish they would make one with 3 or 4 legs, and let it be a big larger - this one is TINY. That would help with the support and thicker legs.

Comments about Benro A-2691 Travel Angel Alum. Tripod (Trans-Functional) W/B1 Ballhead:
Love the compact size, stability, and versatility!!Tried other "travel" pods and they seem to be too light and wobbly for a DSLR. Angel is very robust. Ballhead works well with other standard Arca/Swiss type plates. Note that the plate provided is not compatible with other ballheads. Minor issue since my other plates fit the Angel's ballhead. Being able to convert to a monopod for even lighter, on site travel is a big plus -- no duplication of equipment!

I bought this on a recommendation of a friend, he was right on! What a great Tripod, folds up very small for carrying, the head moves and flows very nicely, the head also adjusts easily. Very happy with my purchase.

Comments about Benro A-2691 Travel Angel Alum. Tripod (Trans-Functional) W/B1 Ballhead:
I use the 269 travel angel primarily on day hikes, but it's always with me since it collapses down to such a reasomable size. The legs extend easily and quickly, though there is one section of a leg that often needs a little convincing to retract. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase, I only wish that I had the cabbage to buy the carbon fiber model. Can't beat it for stability and ease of use.

Comments about Benro A-2691 Travel Angel Alum. Tripod (Trans-Functional) W/B1 Ballhead:
I recently purchased the Benro A-2691 Travel Angel and so far I'm quite pleased with my purchase. It's a sturdy and well built tripod and does efficiently collapse down to a size compact enough for a carry-on bag. The tripod comes paired with the Benro B1 ballhead. I would have preferred a "snap-in" type quick release mechanism verses the screw-clamp mechanism supplied with the B1. My other slight complaint with the B1 ballhead is that the spirit level is not usable when the camera is positioned in the portrait orientation.
Other than these couple issues, I'm happy with the purchase. The tripod kit is heavier than I expected and I'm not sure if the 0.8lb lighter carbon fiber model would be significantly lighter given the extra cost.

Best bang for the buck. Nice and sturdy. That folds up in a compact form. The center column hasva hook as well as one of the leg that becomes a monopod. It is well built and also great for macro shots.
I use a 5D Mark II with 100L, 35L, 85L and 135L.

It is a good tripod for medium zoom use. I have a Canon 7D with a 70-200 mm lens and it works fine. I have a Sony DSC-H50 with a zoom extension as a backup (a much lighter system), it is difficult to get the ball to hold without movement tightening down when the digital zoom is fully zoom out. If you are on a budget and have a lot of patience it will work for this application.

Used with Canon 5D MarkII ; 100-400 Canon lens. Used in high winds with gear bag hanging from center post hook for added stability.
So far have had no slippage with the ballhead and legs work well.
I would buy this again if needed.
Plus the small size is perfect for packing in luggage.
