The microKEY from Korg is slim, lightweight, 37 key USB powered controller, compatible with virtually all computer music software. The 37 velocity-sensing mini keys use a "Natural Touch" key-bed and have been designed with careful attention to the touch and feel. The proportions of the black keys and white "waterfall" keys have been adjusted for optimal playability, and the key touch makes it easy to play chords, glissandos and rapid-fire phrases.
The Octave Shift buttons extend the range of the keyboard by 4 octaves in either direction. Key Transpose allows you to play in any key instantly. Used together, these two features provide access to the entire MIDI note range. For adding expression to your performance, the microKEY is equipped with both a Pitch Bend and a Modulation wheel. Two USB ports (Type A) allow you to expand your custom control center by adding any other USB device.
Free editing software is available for download, allowing you to further customize the microKEY for your production or performance system. Using the editor software, you can set the keyboard to respond to one of 8 distinct velocity curves, or set a fixed velocity value. In addition, the range of the modulation wheel can be customized by setting minimum and maximum control change values. The controller also includes (via download) 3 virtual instruments and a discount coupon for purchasing software from Ableton's Live series.

Comments about Korg microKEY - USB MIDI Keyboard:
This product was one of the best things I ever bought. Easy to carry, I can work everywhere. Too bad I didn't know I needed an extra cable to make connection with my Mac Pro faster.

Comments about Korg microKEY - USB MIDI Keyboard:
I bought this for its' portability. I also have an Impulse 61 that is too big for travel. The keys are better than all other midi keyboards in this price range. It is powered by USB from a computer or notebook but you will need a powered USB hub to use it with an iPad 4 (or any iPad).

Comments about Korg microKEY - USB MIDI Keyboard:
My desktop is full of stuff and my room is tiny. I could not use my 61 keys, so I had to order this little keyboard. It fits in my desktop and now I can compose. I'm not a keyboardist, but I like to see what notes and chords I'm playing, so from a composer's point of view and with a tiny workspace I guess it's just fine. It was plug and play with my mac. It comes with serial numbers for "Light" versions of instruments: AAS Electric Piano, Korg M1Le... What I don't like is that it doesn't have a plug for a sustain pedal.

Comments about Korg microKEY - USB MIDI Keyboard:
I was looking for a keyboard to connect to my MiniMac that would be convenient enough to sit in front of the monitor so that I wouldn't have to go back and forth to my synth rig. The Korg Microkey fit the bill quite nicely, it feels like a quality studio piece and not like a cheesy toy. I like having the pitch and mod wheels too and setup was a breeze. I would recommend to anyone who needs a super lightweight and portable keyboard for their software.

Comments about Korg microKEY - USB MIDI Keyboard:
TL;DR: For the price how can you say no?
+8 Cheap! Korg product, expandable, feature-rich software, pitch & modulation wheels, portable, MIDI, multi-platform: Apple's GarageBand, LMMS.
-4 DRM! M1Le sounds kinda choppy out of the box; lacks "would be nice" connectors: MIDI! TRS L/R, 3.5mm headphones.
That's four stars. Buy the thing. :D
