This camera bag fits everything the photo enthusiast / semi professional could ever want. The configurable pockets can fit compact zooms and primes or 'professional' zooms (i.e. f/2.8 lenses).

My Rally 5 holds a Nikon D7000, Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 HSM II, Nikon 35mm f/1.8G, Nikon 50mm f/1.8D, BlackRapid RS-7, and Nikon 18-105mm kit lens that came with the camera (and is always attached to the camera when stowed). You could mix things up by taking out one of the smaller pockets (which are lined up with Velcro strips) and put a flash in instead. The front compartment is good for holding the smaller things, such as a battery charger, spare batteries, phones, etc. And, should you have an iPad, you can store a portable portfolio (your iPad) or hard-copy portfolio in the pocket.

There are a few cons to the Rally 5, one in particular that is a pet-peeve. Above the front buckle (as seen in the photos) is a patch of Velcro that drives me insane. I like to take candid street photos and cannot afford to hear the loud tear of Velcro when I'm trying to be discrete and stealthy. This can be temporarily-fixed with a bigger patch of black duct tape, but it was a disappointment to see when I unboxed the bag. Accessing my small prime lenses (which are tucked away in the bottom of the bag) is a difficult task, based on how the bag was built to organize things. If you don't own/use primes too often, you should be all set. Additionally, my D7000 barely fits into the bag. If you have a full-frame DSLR, you should consider another bag.

Final Thoughts: In spite of the Velcro and having to dig for my fast prime lenses, this case gets the job done. It carries everything I need in one convenient package. It loses a star for the mildly annoying organization system and the Velcro (but mostly the former). If you have a fair amount of gear or are looking for a street-shooting / lightweight transportation bag, the Rally 5 is what you want.

The back seemed well constructed, had good features and looked good, but it was thicker and a bit more bulky than I was looking for. I ended up returning it and purchasing the Tamrac Zuma 3 - 5723 which was narrower, has a zippered main compartment, and is a bit more sporty looking (less conspicuous as a camera bag).

Comments about 3445 Rally 5 Camera/Netbook/iPad Bag (Black):

This bag is the perfect size to carry a Micro Four Thirds camera body, a few lenses, and accessories like a flash and spare memory card. It also has an iPad pocket and a useful front zip pocket for wallet, keys and other small items. The best thing about the Tamrac Rally 5 is that it looks more like a normal messenger bag than a camera bag.

Have been looking for a bag that could fit my 60D and a large video camera. This is the perfect size with just the right protection. I can also fit a tablet and a few other small items. Plus it does not scream "camera bag".

This is the perfect size for me. Holds my Canon 60D with 15-85 lens, Canon 70-300L(with lens hood) and Canon 10-22 along with an iPad. It also has a pocket in the back which is useful for small papers, such as tickets. The strap is nice and comfortable.

The buckle in the front is finicky when trying to close it. The handle is small and located on the back of the bag, which makes it awkward to carry the bag by the handle.

Needed a smalled bag for quick shoots and airport travel. This bag accomodates a FX DSLR (Nikon D800) with two lenses and a Flash. My ipad in an Otter Box fits very well. Ideally, bigger side pockets and a rain cover would make this a perfict travel bag.

Use: camera bag for non-SLR camera system - body and three lenses; water bottle, sun-glases

            Great: elastic side pockets hold and give quick and easy access to sun glasses, water bottle, ...; compartment width and depths are adjustable; Velcro to close bag;

Not so great: closing the buckle is fiddly - there are more easy to operate (single handed) buckles around.

Comment: wish there was a similar bag capable of holding 13" MacBook - next size up is 15" Laptop.

Comments about 3445 Rally 5 Camera/Netbook/iPad Bag (Black):

I chose this bag to house my new DSLR camera, lens and accessories...in part because I wanted a bag that didn't look like a camera bag....and this seemed to fit the bill.

And it does...although in person it looks more like a camera bag...and less like a messenger bag than I'd hoped based on the photos and description.

The construction is solid...the internal compartments are well padded...and very adjustable. The bag easily and safely accommodates a wide variety of equipment configurations...and has a dedicated spot for my iPad.

My biggest call out would be the flap style top. I wish they had gone w/ a flat zippered top as opposed to the flap style...the zippered top makes gear easier to access and it's more consistent w/ the messenger bag aesthetic they're going for.

The cumbersome nature of the top is (somewhat) offset by the two external pockets which can store things you may want/need to grab quickly (batteries, filters, SD cards etc.).

All in all...it's a well made bag, no real complaints....I'm sure I'll get years of use out of it.

I was looking for a good camera bag that is not overbearing for a petite person like myself. I have bags are just too big and with the gear, it is too heavy. This one is just perfect for my DSLR and two extra lenses or one extra lens and flash. But if I load the two extra lens, then it becomes a bit heavy for me. I can even add my iPad2 which could be great when I travel. And there is room for my wallet and other small items as well. This beats all the "manly" camera bags that I've had in the past. I just wish they come in more colors for us "female" photographers.

Comments about 3445 Rally 5 Camera/Netbook/iPad Bag (Brown with Tan):

My usual bag is my Lowepro classified 250 AW. While this bag is great for weddings, it really wasnt a suitable day trip bag as the bag itself was too heavy. I picked myself up this Tamrac bag based on several criteria:

              1. does it hold 2 bodies w/ lenses attached (Yes - I use it with 5d2 + 85mm 1.4 & 7D + 35mm 1.4. I am also able 2 fit 2 flashes and my Black Rapid RS-7 in the bag as well)
              2. will it hold some sort of laptop/ tablet (it is able to fit my 11" macbook Air
              3. is it light (I have used the bag for an entire day with the gear mentioned above and forgot that it was there at some points)
              4. does the camera bag scream look like a camera bag (the bag doesn't scream out - steal me I have $1000s of dollars of gear inside - it is not shaped like camera bag)
              5. can i wear this bag all day without killing my shoulder (yes - it is very comfortable)

Negatives - doesn't have an all weather cover like the Lowepro but I've had it in a light storm and my gear was still dry inside.

Comments about 3445 Rally 5 Camera/Netbook/iPad Bag (Brown with Tan):

This little bag is perfect for my iPad and my digital SLR. Traveling, I loaded my Canon 60D with a Tamron 18-270mm attached, put a 50 mm f1.8 and a Canon 420 EX Flash in as well. Still room for my iPod, connection accessories, and my iPad. Light weight, perfect for travel.

I have owned four Tamrac Bags and one LowePro. The latch on this one is by far the worst of any bag I have owned. Not a deal breaker, but it is aggravating.

Also, since the bag is so small, it can be slipped away and easily hidden by thieves in an airport. Mine was gone, with everything in it, and someone was watching it. Keep in on your person at all times when in public places and airports.

Comments about 3445 Rally 5 Camera/Netbook/iPad Bag (Brown with Tan):

I bought a Tamrac Rally 5 to take with me on an upcoming trip. I wanted a small bag that would allow me to take my Nikon D7000 with battery grip, a couple of lenses, 11" Macbook Air, and an external hard drive. The Rally 5 fit the bill perfectly. I even have room to spare.

The only complaint I have (and it is a minor one) is that the plastic buckle can be a little difficult to close securely when you're wearing the bag. Otherwise the bag is great.

Comments about 3445 Rally 5 Camera/Netbook/iPad Bag (Black):

This bag is an answered prayer for those of us who have searched for a small bag that will hold essentials and an iPad. Perfect for travel and an excellent bag for a day out shooting where a full kit is not necessary. I can easily load my Canon 7D with 24-105mm attached, 100-400mm, additional lens or 580EXII and iPad. Also plenty of room in front pocket for memory cards, batteries, iPhone and such. I have had this bag for a few months now and I carry it far more than any other bag I own. Very easy to access bag contents while still on shoulder, that's important to me. I mostly wear this bag cross shoulder and it wears well, very steady. I can't utilize a battery grip with my DSLR but that has not been an issue to date as I am traveling light when opting for this bag over my others.

I purchased this product as a fit all bag to get all of my camera gear to a conference in Austin, Texas next week. I am glad to say that I was able to fit two lenses, one full size digital camera body, one HD Digital video camera AND my Bose stereo headphones to keep my sanity while inflight.

I needed a bag for my DSLR, several lens, a flash unit, plus assorted cables, chargers and batteries. After spending time looking at every bag in the store around the $60 price point, I chose this bag for its overall quality and usefulness. The only change I would make is to have the outside pocket a little larger to accomodate a water bottle.
