I bought this kit for video and photography uses. My biggest complaint, like everyone else who reviewed the kit, is how hot the lights run. My second time setting up the lights, one of the bulbs burst. With a shoot coming up in just a couple days, we had to find replacement bulbs and couldn't find what we needed. We had to suffice with CFL's that only had 150 Watt equivalent output (4-Pack @ $75). It made for a more difficult shoot. Westcott does offer a fairly inexpensive fix... search for the Westcott Four Socket Fluorescent Adapter. If you buy this kit, you should spend the money on two of these adapters and you can run up to 8 cool running CFL's that are rated to last up to 10,000 hours. It would be great if Westcott offered a slightly more expensive package that came with these adapters and CFL's vs. 60 hour photoflood bulbs.
Besides this inconvenience, the kit is awesome. Stands are sturdy and the green screens work great. It's priced well (even considering the extra money you should spend on extra bulbs and the 4-light adapter).
All the extra discs weren't pertinent to my needs, so I can't speak to their quality, but for a beginner I'm sure they're handy.
One last note, double check the description... no stand for the green screen is supplied, you'll have to buy this separately. I saw this as a drawback on a couple reviews, but it's clearly not listed or pictured in the description. The green screen is riveted for easy hanging and ready to work with a stand when you're ready to buy one.

This is a great product for an amateur looking to get into more professional quality photography/videography without killing the pocket book.
The green screen is heavy duty and much bigger than I'd expect. The lights are pretty good, however they get extremely hot. The stands for the lights are decent for indoor applications but I'm not sure how they would hold up outside if there is any kind of wind.
The free software that comes with the kit, well.. there is a reason it's free. It's fairly useless.
All in all, if you're looking for some lighting to do some great photos and video for personal use, you won't be sorry.

Comments about Westcott uLite Green Screen Lighting Kit (120VAC):
I have used the kit 2 times. The lights are great, but when the 500 watt bulbs blow out I will probably go to CFL just to save on the heat. I was shorted part of the order from the manufacturer but with a few calls had it in less than a week. Biggest fault is the processing program that comes with it, doesn't do a real good job cleaning up the green edges and wants you to upgrade to do the necessary blurring and such. The tutorial that comes with it shows how to use photoshop and elements to do the editing but I have only done it once and will start using it from now on.

The Kit comes with two bulbs for each light. When my order was shipped the bulbs came broken but B&H shipped me two more at no charge.

Comments about Westcott uLite Green Screen Lighting Kit (120VAC):
The lights and stands in this kit are well made. I highly recommend using the 4 socket fluorescent adapter kit. The included 500 watt incandescent lights run much too hot. The flourescent lights run much cooler, are cheaper and locally available. Get the daylight 3500k variety. The included software is very basic but useful. For serious work stick with Photoshop. Overall, nice kit good value.

Comments about Westcott uLite Green Screen Lighting Kit (120VAC):
For the price I wasn't expecting anything spectacular but I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it is. The lights work great for getting an even flat light on the screen which is needed for keying. The stands and soft boxes that come with the lights are very nice, my only concern as far as the lights go is the type of bulb they use. The bulb is like an oversized standard house bulb with a fragile filament. I haven't run into any issues with the filaments yet and with continued carful handling I shouldn't. I have shot with both green screens and both have keyed very well. I am a little disappointed with the fabric the screens are made of though, both feel flimsy. The 5X7 feels like a bed sheet and the 9X10 is like a thin blanket. I will caution about using the bracketed holes on the screens, while using the provided hooks on the 5x7 the screen torn about an inch and half around the bracket while I was trying to get the screen perfectly flat. Definitely use clamps instead of the holes. That being said this is still a very good kit for the price and has worked great for me so far.

This is a nice little green screen kit for the 200 dollar range you definately get a lot of bang for your buck. And if anything ever breaks it won't hit you in the wallet to hard.
The screen material is a stretchy fabric and doesn't wrinkle to much which s great. Also the combination of the lights and the screen they both light evenly I couldn't be happier.

It seems too cheap to be true, but it is. I haven't had much experience with green screen filming, but I was able to use this right out of the box with no troubles. Save yourself [$] and get the uLite 2-Light Digital Photo Lighting Kit fir 180 bucks. The 5x7 screen comes with permanent wrinkles, and the software package is laughable - except for the instructional DVD. The 9x10 screen is great. the lights are as you'd expect for the money - mine came with a bad clutch on one light and sent it back. [...]my replacement light had the exact same problem. Bad clutch. Wouldn't hold light upright. This time I said "Duck it" and wrapped it up with 3 wraps of Duct. Hey, I need to get on with my life y'know? Holds steady but is no longer adjustable. All in all it's good for garage video and photo, but I coulda spent that extra [$] on bulbs!

Very easy to set up, right out of the box. The large green screen was a much higher quality than I expected for the price. It was also nice to have the smaller green screen to throw in with my travel kit in case I need it. The PhotoKey software is extremely easy to use and does a great job of pulling out the green background, even through fine detailed areas like hair. Sometimes it's hard to get my kids interested in getting their pictures taken. The first time I showed them in a movie poster or on a Hollywood red carpet, they were hooked and can't wait to get more pictures taken. I intend to use this as a standard background for any portait shots in addition to regular backgrounds, just in case I want to try different backgrounds later or want to get more creative. Definitely a great buy for the price. The 500W lights run quite hot, but that is expected with those types of bulbs.
