The Sunpak Quick Release Platform for Compact Pistol Grip Ball Head makes it easy to attach or detach the camera from the head. A locking pin on the plate prevents the camera from moving once attached to the plate.

Was just what I needed. Lost the one that came with the tripod. I also had two camera bodies, and was tired of swapping it around.

These are nice and easy to use, the rubber on top comes loose a bit to easy for rough use but all in all I would get one for each camera if you use your sunpak tripod often.

Comments about Sunpak Quick Release Platform for Compact Pistol Grip Ball Head:
Lost a piece to my sunpak tripod, and got the exact same quick release platform as i had before. Works like a charm. Please note that it is not the entire quick release system, it is just the plate that screws on to the bottom of your camera.

Comments about Sunpak Quick Release Platform for Compact Pistol Grip Ball Head:
Not much to say about how I use it... It's just a platform specifically designed for some Sunpak tripods. I got two, one for the camera and another for my 70-200 2.8 so I don't waste time. So far they work fine, have a very good grip and I really like the fact that I don't need a coin for tighten.

Comments about Sunpak Quick Release Platform for Compact Pistol Grip Ball Head:
I keep the quick release platforms in each of my camera bags for backups. When the camera is attached to the tripod it is very easy to remove with the quick release. There really isn't anything not so great about it.

Comments about Sunpak Quick Release Platform for Compact Pistol Grip Ball Head:
I took a bit of a chance when purchasing this quick release platform because I wasn't sure if it would work perfectly with my Sunpak 6600 PRO. However, I couldn't find any site that sold release platforms explicitly compatible with my tripod so I went off the great customer experiences people seem to have with B&H and I'm happy to report that I was not disappointed in the slightest! I am extremely satisfied with the speedy delivery service and a product in perfect condition.

Comments about Sunpak Quick Release Platform for Compact Pistol Grip Ball Head:
After dealing with another house and getting the wrong part I was frustrated. I had waited 60 days to get the part and it wasn't right. The dealer then said they couldn't get it and I had to get a refund.I called B&H and they confirmed the part number and model number, contacted their supplier and assured me they could get the part, even though it was on backorder.Low and behold, I got the correct QR platform and now don't have to switch it from one camera to the next. B&H has become the only go-to place for all my photograpy supplies. This is the best pistol grip I have seen, the QRP is square so your camera can be mounted in any direction without fussing.Thank you B&H
Comments about Sunpak Quick Release Platform for Compact Pistol Grip Ball Head:
I was wondering if there were different platforms that fit in my Sunpack pistol grip because I bought the Grip less expensive without a grip. It fit perfect and holds the camera in place better than any other platform that I've used. It also is thinner so leaving it on the camera is not a problem. The great part is that you can drop the camera in - any four ways. I like to hold my pistol grip to the right side. It makes it easy to pivot it in any direction including skyward without comprimize. You've got to get a pistol grip - It's awesome.

I searched high and low to find a replacement to the Quick Release for my Sunpak Tripod. Finally found it at B&H and it's exactly like the one that came with the Tripod when I bought it. It's actually the exact same piece. Super Happy!
