This is a great trackball, but it does have some issues. First, when oh when is Logitech going to make a bluetooth trackball??? I think it's great that the wireless usb dongle is very small, but it still consumes a usb port, while most computers now ship with internal bluetooth.
Second, I am used to using my ring finger for right clicking, and my old wired Logitech trackball had it positioned that way. However, this one has it as the middle finger so you have to move your finger over to use the scroll wheel. Very annoying and will take getting used to.
Third, they claim to be able to reassign the buttons using the software, but they don't give you complete freedom in the function. You have to select from a short list of acceptable functions for each button. For example, the default for the forward button to to move forward in web pages, but it's the easiest of the two to press, so I wanted to simply reverse the functions between back and forward - but that is not an option.
Having said that, the trackball feels very comfortable, setup is a breeze, and it works great. For trackball users like me, I would recommend it.

The product performed fairly well but I need something to assist me in CAD software. First of all, I really need to be able to press the scroll and hold it down while I move the cursor. This proved to be difficult as it took a fair amount of force to hold it down. Doing so completely negated the ergonomics of the device as my hand would cramp after only a few hours of use.
Secondly, I was not able to move the cursor to pinpoint a specific point. As a designer, I constantly have to move to a specific point (roughly a 4-pixel cube) and this mouse made it difficult. I would have to get "close" to the point, and then take my time to fine tune my cursor position in order to select the point. This happened due to the smoothness of the track-ball, or there lack of. it seemed to jump past the point when I slowed the tracking as I got close to the point I was trying to select. This slowed down my design operation by a great deal.
When I use the mouse with anything outside my design software it worked great as I did not require the level of accuracy as I described above.
If you are a track ball aficionado, and do not work in a CAD environment, this is a great choice of mouse; otherwise, I do not recommend it.
Quick note about the unifying receiver: it worked flawlessly. I had no issues with interference or mis-communication between the device and PC.
Hope this helps, and happy hunting.

This trackball works great with my netbook. I don't like to use the small touch pad. I use the netbook in my lap while I take notes in counseling and just turn my touch pad off and use the track ball. I especially like the small wireless USB which is hardly noticable.

As an audio/video engineer and spend tons of time at the computer and wanted a mouse that didn't put so much strain on my hand. Most pros use trackballs of some sort but I find it hard to do precision work with a track ball and wanted something between a mouse and a trackball. Initially, it took some getting used to because the pointer is ONLY controlled with the ball, the unit doesn't move like a mouse. That said, it took a few hours and I was off and running. But like I said, I found it hard to make precision movements, so I'm back to the mighty mouse. Good product though. Buttons feel a little cheap, scroll wheel is click only but it's a good deal. If I was only using it for web surfing, word docs this would be great.

I use this for both home and work. It is a great trackball and much easier than a mouse. So much so I had to get a third one for my wife since she took my home one. I may need another because my kids like the way it works.
I like that I can turn it on and off and the USB receiver fits inside the slot for easy travel.

The right tilted design takes a lot of stress off my wrist so it isn't sore anymore. The wireless connection helps a lot with my computer that has its USB ports right where one would put a mouse (and thus the plug and cord get in the way). Because it is a trackball, you don't need much room for it and it won't scratch up your desktop.

My Logitech M570 Wireless Trackball is used in ALL my computer system work - from upgrading the software revisions on several different PCs, to maintaining precise cursor control in all kinds of applications, video games, or just surfing the web. If you've ever gotten tired of moving that mouse around, I suggest trying this device. You control all the up-down-left-right cursor movements with your THUMB only. It has the exact same 'Left Click' & 'Right Click' buttons you now use, plus the 'Up-Down Wheel' (switch included). Besides that, it also has a couple extra buttons that default to 'Forward' and 'Back' (really handy while web surfing) or they can be assigned other application/game specific functions to make it even easier for you to use. Add to that the fact that there are no wires to tangle with, and the completely customizable controls make this device a pleasure to use. The only thing you need to do is to pop out the ball, keeping it and its socket clean, and occasionally check the indicator for the single AA battery (which lasts a LONG, LONG time), and that's all there is to it. I've used these devices extensively and I've really put them to the test - they perform beautifully... great for desktops or laptops!
