I had to take a 'semi-macro' piccy to document a damaged Amazon purchase. Sadly, even with a mini-tripod, our compact digital camera with 'anti-shake' still blurred. Then I remembered an Aiptek HD-DV we'd bought elsewhere to document a touring holiday. Bad weather meant that trip was a wash-out but, despite three years in its box, the HD-DV charged. It screwed snugly onto our mini-tripod. The neat remote worked, so no camera shake. Transferred 5 MPixel piccy to W8.1u1 PC via USB and free IrfanView. Job done.
Regret four (4) stars only as there seems no way to put the camera into or out of stand-by using the remote...
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
There is NO function switch to turn the camera on-off! If you want a truly wireless camera, this was a major mistake by the manufacturer because you'll always have to turn the camera on and off manually! Other than that, every other function is on the remote and the camera responds well. If not for the cheap price though, I would have sent it back for this major mistake, but I can live with it.
