This charger is new as is the Nikon D7000 that uses it for the EN-EL15 battery. Thus there are no 3rd party chargers or batts available yet. If I didn't need these for an upcoming overseas trip, I would have waited. The price is outrageous, but will eventually decrease. Anyway, it works!!!

I received this with a D800, which is replacing a D700. The D700 charger is more compact and has a simple Figure 8 socket that means standard Fig 8 plugs (like you get with your iPad charger) can be used to plug it straight into the wall wherever you go in the world. No need for a long cable.
This one has a silly swivelling socket that is too deep to accept the standard Fig 8 plugs and comes only with a US plug as standard.
It would have been simple to have it work like the old one - now I need to carry a bulky extension cable and plug adaptors to travel with it.

Just replacing one that got stolen. It works. The new one has an optional plug attachment so you can dispense with the cord if you want to save weight for traveling. Little section where the cord enters the charge pivots 90deg if you release the catch so the prongs will point straight out the back. Use it for the EN-EL15 on my D7000. Only con is that it is a bit bulky.
