Installed in a Dell XPS 8300. Win7 64Bit OS. I also used a SATA II power "Y" splitter cable to add an additional SATA II power connection, to which I added a SATA II to 4 pin Molex cable and connected it right up to the Molex power interface on the card. The extra SATA II power plug from the "Y" splitter pluged back into the boot hard drive.

I followed the directions from the website on this product for installation. I found however the CD that came with it had the latest driver and confirmed the latest firmware was already installed on the card. Anyway do what the website says to do or call them.

The download transfer test was good. After boot I noticed the lights worked on the USB 3.0 ports so I plugged in a Seagate 500 GB 2.5 portable drive. This is the GoFlex Turbo model that spins at 7200RPM and is both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0. A 900 MB (megabyte) file was transfered in 6 seconds from the RAID 0 internal Array to the external portable GoFlex drive.

However the upload test was inspiriational and assured me I did the right thing. The same 900 MB file uploaded onto the internal array from the GoFlex hard drive in under 2 seconds. More like one second.

Advice - before you buy. Open your desktop computer to see what power cables are available to use. Search the internet for cable adapting solutions.

I was very nervous about the purchase after all I read on the internet with these cards failing that had 3 and 4 ports, and were connected to internal USB adapters.... So I decided to start small with a two port to keep it simple.

      Keep it simple. Good luck.

Comments about IOGEAR 2-Port USB 3.0 PCI Express Card:

Installed this USB 3.0 card to speed up my monthly back up of my pc - about 88 gig on C drive - to a Western Digital external hard drive. It cut my upload time from about 50 minutes on USB 2 to about 28 minutes . I was hoping for a better reduction but after reading other comments what I have experienced is not unusual.

Comments about IOGEAR 2-Port USB 3.0 PCI Express Card:

After having trouble with two other usb3 pcie cards (including the western digital one) this one works perfectly. I have windows 7 32 bit with a five year old old MSI motherboard that apparently is tricky to get the PCIE interface to work ok. I preloaded the driver, installed card (which found the driver) and then use then installed the updated driver and firmware from iogears website. Everything worked perfectly and disks I thought were bad have shown up (had to go thru computer management and set name of disk). Now I know why people like usb3. Thanks Iogear for getting it right.

I installed this card on my PC, running Windows XP, so I would have a USB 3.0 port to use the Lexar Professional USB 3.0 Dual-slot UDMA 7 CF/SD card reader. Instead of using my Canon 7D to upload my photos (usually 16GB+ at a time), I use a 3.0 card reader and have cut the upload time in half (at least it feels like half the time to me).

Be sure you have a spare molex power connector to power the card that can reach the card's location in your computer's case.

This is my first experience with USB 3.0, and i am amazed at the increased speed downloading NEF files from my new Nikon D800. The 36GB sensor in the camera creates huge files, but the IOGear card gobbles them almost instantly. I feed the i/o card with a Lexar LEPCRU3.0 Dual-Slot Reader using Lexar Professional 1000x CF cards. I did attach a four pin power plug to the USB card to provide additional power, so i cannot comment on the card's speed without the extra power. I love the combination of the IOGear USB 3.0 card and the Lexar card reader.

This is great! I got 1TB USB 3.0 drive and thanks to this card backups are now very fast.

It was very easy to install but had little documentation about using the power hook-up on the card

Needed additional ports for my desktop. Installation was a breeze and performance has been great. I purchased it based on other reviews and agree it perfoms as advertised.
