When you're shooting with a telephoto or in low light and moving too fast to set up a tripod (or you just want to travel light), the Benro A38F Classic Aluminum Monopod may be your new best friend.

This machined aluminum support reaches a height of 59.4", closes down to 19.7", and supports 39.6 lb. It only weighs 1.3 lb, so you'll barely know you're carrying it. Opening and closing the 4 sections is quick and easy with the flip lever lock design, and high elasticity rubber feet prevent slipping (meaning less fatigue for you in the long run).

An attached wrist strap and a closed foam grip give you a secure hold on the monopod, and the grip insulates your hands from the aluminum on cold days. The head plate has a reversible 1/4"20 and 3/8"-16 threaded mount.

Comments about Benro A38F Classic Aluminum Monopod:

This my first experience with a Benro product. I was very impressed with the quality this Aluminum Monopod by Benro. It is really light weight. This is also my very first monopod. I love it. An it collapses to about 18 inches in overall length.

Comments about Benro A38F Classic Aluminum Monopod:

I use it primarily with my Tokina 80-400, the ring mount on the lens eliminates the need for a tilt head. The construction is very sturdy and versatile. The nutdriver to tighten the clamp lock is clipped to the top shaft, but a good initial set-up should not make tightening in the field necessary.

The wide swivvel foot does not (easily) convert to a spike, but I have not had the need for a spike foot yet. Also with this foot, the actual heigth is 60 1/4", so the 4.95' spec must be based on a spike foot.

Comments about Benro A38F Classic Aluminum Monopod:

I used this monopod to support a lightweight (by my standards) video rig. I found that it occasionally would slowly collapse, i.e. the sections didn't lock tightly enough. I simply tightened the nuts a little bit and it worked fine. The monopod is very light and the design seems very solid.
