  • Maximum Height of 67.3" (1.70 m)
  • 5 Sections Close to 19.5" (49.5 cm)

  • Cold-Resistant Closed Foam Grip
  • Fast & Easy Flip Lever Locking Design
  • Rubber Foot Avoids Fatigue & Slippage

When you're shooting with a telephoto or in low light and moving too fast to set up a tripod (or you just want to travel light), the Benro A49F Classic Aluminum Monopod may be your new best friend.

This machined aluminum support reaches a height of 67.3" (1.70 m), closes down to 19.5" (49.5 cm), and supports 55 lbs (24.94 kg). It only weighs 1.80 lbs (0.81 kg), so you'll barely know you're carrying it. Opening and closing the 5 sections is quick and easy with the flip lever lock design, and high elasticity rubber feet prevent slipping (meaning less fatigue for you in the long run).

An attached wrist strap and a closed foam grip give you a secure hold on the monopod (and your camera!), and the grip insulates your hands from the aluminum on cold days. The head plate has a 3/8" screw.

I use the A49F to balance and support a full size Sony XD cam. This monopod easily holds the weight of the cam (about 40 lbs outfitted) without slipping. It lengthens quickly and fairly quiet. The foot pad is a lot sturdier than the photo appears and gets a sure grip on the ground. ****BEST Feature is the SOLID 3/8ths inch thread. (solid 1/4 20 too.)**** Great design over other brands. This model retracts shorter, extends taller, weighs less and is more comfortable to use than other brands offered. It is also far more affordable and I think better than the Sachtler model. ***If you need to support a 35 lb or more camera, this is the monopod to get.*** Excellent monopod, amazingly low price. Get one before they realize they should be charging more. ###Benro, PLEASE work on designing a small quick release plate for Sony betacams for this monopod.### Also, I don't think it's necessary to buy the Carbon Fiber. The Al-Mag is plenty light.

Owned this product for about two years. Really sturdy construction which in that sense makes it extremely steady; however, the friction locks need constant adjusting, which counters all of that. The monopod--without notice--will just start slipping down on you right in the middle of a shoot. You have to keep the key that comes with it always handy. Once adjusted, it will work fine for a while and then need adjusted again, and again, and again. Cold seems to affect the setting (high school football gamers be warned). It's otherwise fantastic if you can deal with that. For the price, I expected a more reliable product.

The A49F Classic Aluminum Monopod by Benro is very sturdy and price cant be beat when one compares other moopods with the same weight capacity. I defnitely recommend this product.

Comments about Benro A49F Classic Aluminum Monopod:

On the monopod that I just received, the 3 set screws supposed to prevent the rotation of the head are so close to the axis of the upper leg section that 2 of them are partially covered by that section and thus unusable. I had to remove the foam grip to tighten the remaining screw.

I photograph landscapes and nature, and the monopod has made a difference every time I am out in the field. When using a 100-400mm lens the monopod provides a quicker set up than with my tripod, and still make the shot. It is easy to set the proper height, and to fold away. I wish I had bought it years ago. I have been recommending it to all my friends.

I used the monopod for two consecutive days of shooting a steam engine. I doubt that I could have hand held for the number of shots. The length of the monopod meant that I could stand straight and use my viewfinder even when standing above grade.

Comments about Benro A49F Classic Aluminum Monopod:

I am 6' 4" tall and take photos of concerts and stage plays. My previous monopod was not quite tall enough (my tripod was fine when I was in a fixed location). This one is tall enough for someone 6' 10"! It feels very sturdy, easily supporting my Canon 5D3 and 70-200 f2.8. I find that thumb latches set up more quickly than twist locks, so I like that feature as well. The diameter of the tubing is a little big - not a problem for me, but it may be for some. I think this is a real bargain.

This product is well worth the asking price and a bargain at the [$] I paid. Extend beyond my vocal point and retract to a small 12 to 13 inches. Very light, but sturdy as a rock. I use it to hold my heavy Nikon SF 2.8 70x200 Lens. I would recommend to anyone in the market for and excellent Monopod!!!!!!!!!

This monopod is solid and durable compared to a cheap Targus I own. I use this for quick on the go shooting when I need a steady shot for slow shutter speeds. This monopod is also used for off camera flash when I'm fortunate enough to have someone grip for me. I mount my flextt5 and SB900 for an instant light boom. Of course I expected nothing less from Benro.

I bought this due to its load limits to use with a 400mm 2.8 IS and a 50D. My uncle has a Gitzo carbon fiber mono and was very impressed with the quality and price point of this unit vs his. Definitely recommended.

I've been shooting indoor hockey games for quite some time and always get a little blur from the low-light conditions. Having the A49F Benro Monopod has solved the problem! I'm getting many more firm shots and removing the weight makes taking pictures throughout the game a lot easier.

As expected very well built. It supports my head and 300 MM 2.8 lens. I wanted something strong that would handle all possible movements with about 12 lbs of the head, camera and lens connected to the monopod.

I needed a monopod that was more compact for traveling and shooting from a sitting position. It is taller than I need, I can stand on a ladder when it is fully extended (im short) and the grip is fatter than my hand but it's fine, It is very sturdy and a great price.

Comments about Benro A49F Classic Aluminum Monopod:

I purchased the Benro Monopod to use when traveling on the motorcycle. It replaced another monopod I had that was very weak and wobbly. It's compact size allows it to fit in my tour pack with no problem. It is well made and I especially like the leg extender latches and bottom swivel for leveling. I also bought the Benro head mount which works equally as good.

Comments about Benro A49F Classic Aluminum Monopod:

I shoot lots of MLB, MLS and CFL with long lenses and this monopod is great for everything I do. As another review said this monopod is great for tall people (I'm 6'5) and hold an 800mm f/5.6 lens with a 1 series body no problem fully extended.

My only dislike with the monopod is the foot on the bottom. When panning it's very rough so the pan can be jerky at times. To solve this I leave the foot loose so it can rotate on the threads. I will most likely end up taking that part off any using a cane end instead

Comments about Benro A49F Classic Aluminum Monopod:

I have owned this for a few weeks, and have not yet put it through a major workout, but am very pleased with the build quality, stability, and extended length. I am 6 ft 7 inches tall, and have generally resigned myself to constantly stooping over to use tripods and monopods. This one, when extended fully, with a Benro B-1 head on it that I already owned, is actually almost too tall for me. I love it. Very strong, able to hold my 50D and 400mm 5.6L with no slippage. Flip mounts work well, and are easily tightened with included hex wrench if they do start to slip. It also has a nice large diameter all the way to the end piece, giving a sense of security. It feels strong enough to use in place of the hiking staff I use when backpacking. The hand grip is larger diameter than most I have looked at, which is a nice bonus for those of us with large hands.
