The Benro Classic C1580F 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod is a lightweight, sturdy support for a point & shoot or DSLR camera, with a maximum load capacity of 17.6 lb. With the center column and the four leg sections fully extended, the tripod reaches a maximum height of 58.7".

The C1580F weighs only 2.6 lb yet includes several professional features that ensure its stability, such as user-adjustable flip locks on the 8-layer carbon fiber legs. Locking screws in the top plate provide an extra level of security and stability when attaching a head (not included). A hook at the bottom of the center-column allows you to hang a counterweight from the tripod's center of gravity for increased stability, especially in windy conditions or with uneven loads.

Adjustable Leg Angles
The legs can be independently locked into place at three different angles to enable shooting on irregular surface areas or at ground level
Anti-Rotation Legs with Quick Locks
Tripod height can be set easily by flipping the quick-lock leg levers. Combined with anti-rotation legs, this enables fast setup without fumbling
Rubber and Stainless Steel Spiked Feet
The tripod comes with both rubber feet and stainless steel spiked feet that screw in and out of the leg
Foam Grip on One Leg
A thick layer of closed-cell nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) provides a comfortable yet firm grip when carrying your Benro tripod, and it mitigates the effects of extreme heat and cold
Wingnut-Style Column Lock
A wingnut-style center column-locking knob allows for secure height adjustments on the fly, with intuitive execution
Reversible Center Column
The center column, which is grooved to prevent rotation, is removable and reversible so that you can mount a camera as close to the ground as possible
Spirit Level & Compass
Built into the chassis are a spirit level that helps keep your camera squared off and level with your subject, and a built-in compass that indicates directional orientation
Carry Case & Shoulder Strap
Benro carrying cases and straps are made of high-quality, durable materials to provide maximum protection for your tripod and head (not included). The included shoulder strap doubles as a tripod-carrying strap – just slip the strap's lasso around the legs and, at the other end of the strap, attach the clip to the loop on the tripod's magnesium chassis

Comments about Benro Classic C1580F 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod:

A friend of mine loaned me her Benro C1580F that she bought for travelling. I compared this to the Mefoto Globetrotter (on-line comparison only) and other travel tripods and it compared favorably. With a Manfrotto 494 or 496 tripod head it is about the same weight, or less. It is a tad less wide (in diameter) when folded up, but a few inches longer (even with the tripod head removed). But overall I think not that much different in total volume if you pack the head seperately. And I like the 4 section legs (instead of 5 section) as well as the flip locks. I did some simple stability tests against my Manfrotto 055 Carbon full-size tripod and it is definitely not as stable, but then again it is lighter and much more compact. I notice that this tripod is frequently on sale for under $250, and at this price, if you have a head already, it is a great alternative to the more expensice travel tripod kits. I wish a good testing site would compare the two with test data for stiffness etc. For me, it saved me money and I think will work just fine.

Comments about Benro Classic C1580F 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod:

I got this tripod to use with a fluid head as a leightweight option for news and documentary video shoots where I need to lug the tripod everywhere I go. All too often I'd leave my heavier tripod at home.

Attached to my camera backpack, this tripod feels like it's barly there, which enables me to shoot handheld without worrying about keeping an eye on my tripod so it doesn't get stolen.

Given the leight weight, it's actually pretty sturdy. The anti-rotation legs allow me to do quick pans and not have the tripod move. The only issue I have is with the center column lock. Unless you screw it on really tightly, it rotates a bit during fast pans, which gives this little bump during the beginning of shots.

The height range of this tripod is perfect for me. With the head, it goes from about 17 inches to several inches taller than my eye level.

One disappointment was that the included carrying case didn't fit my head. Unless you just have a tiny ballhead, it's worthless.
