The Benro Versatile A2970F 3-Section Aluminum Tripod features a center column that can be raised out of its chassis so you can pivot and swivel it into almost any position. You can swivel the column 360° and tilt it up to 180° – perfect for capturing low-to-the-ground shots and for performing macro photography at any angle.

The A2970F reaches a maximum height of 68.8" (174.8 cm) and supports loads up to 22 lbs (10 kg), making it perfect for DSLR and medium format cameras. The lightweight aluminum Versatile tripod weighs in at only 4.5 lbs (2 kg). Its anti-rotation legs feature user-adjustable flip locks to ensure their reliable operation over the long term.

Locking screws in the top plate provide an extra level of security and stability when attaching a head (not included). A hook at the bottom of the center-column allows you to hang a counterweight from the tripod's center of gravity for increased stability, especially in windy conditions or with uneven loads. In configurations with the center column pivoted low, the loop on the magnesium chassis can be used to suspend a weight.

Column-Locking Setknobs
The angle and position of the adjustable center-column can be locked into place with a single twist of the center-column setknob.
Adjustable Leg Angles
For an extra measure of flexibility, Benro tripod legs can be independently locked into place at three different angles to enable shooting in cramped quarters, on irregular surface areas, or at ground level.
Quick Lock Legs with Anti-Rotation Leg System
Tripod height can easily be set by a flip of the quick lock leg levers, which combined with anti-rotation legs enable fast and fumble-free set-up.
Rubber and Stainless Steel Spiked Feet
The tripod comes with both rubber feet and stainless steel spiked feet that screw in and out of the leg
Closed-Cell Foam Grip
A thick layer of closed-cell nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) provides a comfortable yet firm grip when carrying your Benro tripod, and it mitigates the effects of extreme heat and cold
Head Mounting Setscrews
Setscrews provide an extra level of security when attaching the head to the tripod's top-plate.
Center-Column Hook
A hook, located on the bottom of the center-column, allows you to hang additional weight from the tripod's center of gravity for increased stability.
Carry Case & Shoulder Strap
Benro straps and carrying cases are made of quality, high-durability materials to provide maximum protection for your tripod and head.

Very well made. Will be used for both video and photo. Holds my Nikon D610 and follow focus mounted to a Manfrotto MVH500AH.

          High quality throughout.

Comments about Benro Versatile A2970F 3-Section Aluminum Tripod:

I wouldn't take these sticks camping on account of their weight/size, but I have biked around Brooklyn with them on my back quite a bit at this point. They're stable enough to minimize vibration nicely on a windy rooftop and the tilting center column makes overhead work possible with a counterweight.

I'm working primarily with stills but with the right head I can see how video on a DSLR could work out nicely.

My only gripe is that I wish the center column was longer for those times when I do tilt it. An extension column would be amazing.

Comments about Benro Versatile A2970F 3-Section Aluminum Tripod:

Very Excellent mechanics. Superb solid construction. Much better than the Manfrotto 055xprob. That I own. Flip locks are plastics, but work very well. But the flip lock Collars are Alum.Knobs, that tighten the Horizontal arm position are also plastic but with Brass inserts, as well as the column tightening knob, but they work very well and lock up tight, and with the brass inserts should be ok, for longevity. The Horizontal Column position is more stable than the Manfrotto 055xprob. I own both as well as a couple of Gitzos.Leg angles 3 position, work great and are rigid as well as leg tubes, very smooth, to extend and retract. My only complaint is the black alum anodizing on the tripod is a little thinner than other anodizing on like the manfrotto tripods, so a little concern here. But finish seems to hold up ok, its is a little flatter black hue also.Dimensions not give in BH descriptions are as follows;Fully retracted length; 26 1/4"Legs extended column down:58 1/4' Legs and column extended: 86 1/4"Top tube OD Dia: 28.6mm.Mid Tube OD Dia; 25.2mm.Bottom Tub OD Dia; 21.7mm.With legs fully extended this Benro A2970f is more stable than the Manftotto 055xprob and lighter also. Also holds more weight.Stainless steel spikes come with the tripod in an internal pocket in the included tripod case as well as t allen wrenches[ 3mm & 4mm] and a spanner. The Stainless Spikes screw into the bottom legs and are a 10mm dis thread. Rubber feet supplied on bottom legs simply un screw. very nicely.Tripod case is well made, and comes with a shoulder carry strap in case. For the money, weight of only 4.5 lbs and superb construction, and height of 58/14" without column extended, this is a great Tripod.Highly Recommended. So I will give this Tripod 4 1/2 stars, if black anodizing finish was a little better would be 5 stars, considering quality/price.

Comments about Benro Versatile A2970F 3-Section Aluminum Tripod:

This versatile tripod is replacing a much more expensive tripod that just didn't work for me. The controls and knobs are just in better positions and it just feels so much more sturdy. My gear right now is around 7 lbs and this has no problem holding that. As long as things go my way, this just might be the last tripod I have to buy. I use this for family events and shooting where carrying the weight of the tripod won't be an issue.

Comments about Benro Versatile A2970F 3-Section Aluminum Tripod:

I recently purchased these legs from a local shop in my area after seeing it in the store and speaking to an expert about it. Because of the number of features it has, plus the low price, I was sold pretty quickly. A friend of mine has a very similar set of legs from Manfrotto, and these legs really give the Manfrotto unit a run for its money.

These legs are very versatile, and are fully adjustable in just about every way. The legs expand very smoothly and the latches are easy to open and close. Adjusting the angle of the legs is simple, and can be achieved by pulling on the latches at the top of each leg, adjusting the angle, then clicking it down. There are 3 angles to choose from.

The legs go super low to the ground, or very high up when expending the center column. The center column also has the ability to rotate 90* sideways (landscape position) and everything in between, which the Manfrotto cannot do, and the center column rotates 360* separately from the head. Great feature to have if you've already lined up a shot, but just need to move sideways a hair and don't want to mess up your framing. The center column also has a hook to hang a weight for added support in windy conditions. My only complaint with the center column is that it does not pan very smoothly if you are using the center column in the landscape position. Okay for beginner video, but not that great for someone who is serious about video. It is absolutely perfect for a photographer, but it's just not smooth enough for a videographer.

I like the weight of these legs compared to the Manfrotto unit. They are a bit lighter, but still heavy enough to be very stable in windy conditions, and they feel very well built. The weight capacity is also much higher than the Manfrotto, even though it's a lighter unit and much cheaper.

These legs come with a few accessories, including allen keys to tighten/loosen the hardware, spiked feet to stake into the ground if desired, and a very high quality protective bag with handle. The bag is big enough to fit a basic ball head as well.

I paired this with a Benro BH1 ball head, and after a few hours of shooting, I'm in love. It's a killer combo. I'd highly recommend this to anyone.

Here are a few photos that I took using this tripod on a windy day:

This tripod does have a little weight to it but its what I need for landscape and night photography. Its use is extensive due to the different ways the legs and centre column can be moved. Definitely recommend for its versatile use and price.
