The Vanguard QS-39 Quick Release Plate is a quick-release camera plate that attaches to your camera for quick mounting to a tripod head and easy removal. It features a standard 1/4"-20 screw whose positioning is adjustable. The QS-39 quick shoe fits many Vanguard ball heads (SBH series) and pan heads (PH series).

The plate fits well, but has a small design fault: the screw has no ring, so if you need to screw if off the camera, you need a tool. I have hung a half a penny on the tripod for that. If you need to change it often, could be a pain.

Oem original in retaol pack. B&H had a great price as usual. As for design of the 1/20 screw, it requires that you carry a club on you to remove the plate from the lens or camera. The older units were easier to remove.

I mount one of these on each lens with a tripod mount and each camera body I am using. They are light weight (I backpack with my camera gear), provide secure mounting on my carbon fiber tripod, and are quick to change. I need to carry a quarter to adjust or remove them but that's ok.

I use this product on my Vanguard Tripod & Head. Overall it's a great product, I love the quality that Vanguard puts into their products. I started with Manfrotto, and have no reason to go back now. I gave this plate 4 starts because I don't constantly leave it on my Camera, and it's a pain to have to keep the little tool with me all the time, or a screwdriver to put it on.

I bought 2 of these, so that I can quickly exchange my camera, video camera, and spotting scope on my tripod.
I've had them for only about a month, but I know they work the way they're supposed to! Fits in the tripod as it's supposed to (not surprising, since it's made by the same manufacturer as the maker of the tripod head).
