Comments about Nikon SZ-3 Color Filter Holder for SB-700 Flash:

I don't end up putting too many filters on my flashes... I can slap a warming or a fluorescent filter on pretty quickly no matter what the flash head has on it. Nikon has gone the "fancy" route in the past couple versions of their flashes where you almost have to use these to hold a gel in place, and I frankly find them more annoying than useful. The SB-700 didn't come with this (bad move, Nikon) so I bought it but it hasn't ended up having value for me. I never, ever use the feature where the flash will detect what kind of gel is in place and adjust the camera's while balance accordingly, but then I never, ever, ever use auto white balance. Ever. And neither should you.

So, if you are the sort of person who uses these extra attachments that can fall off and are easily lost, you will enjoy this attachment.

Comments about Nikon SZ-3 Color Filter Holder for SB-700 Flash:

Product is perfect. No complaints. I now have an emergency back-up since this was included with the SJ-4 kit I purchased. It is not listed in the SJ-4 product description, nor is it shown in any of the product photos.

            Nikon should change this.

Comments about Nikon SZ-3 Color Filter Holder for SB-700 Flash:

I was hoping that I could use this and a custom velcro attachment to use the small filters in my Cinegel Swatchbook on my speedlight (Roscolux Swatchbook works too, but I find the selection in the Cinegel one much more useful despite having less filters overall). I was PSYCHED when I found that this clear thing perfectly clamped the filter (once removed from the book obviously) to the flash head! Not too tight as to damage or scratch the filter; not too loose that the filter could fall out - just right!

Comments about Nikon SZ-3 Color Filter Holder for SB-700 Flash:

Only going to knock one star off of this simply because it SHOULD have been supplied with the SB-700 as standard OEM equipment. I have no idea why Nikon does this silly stuff. You would think for the premium prices they request for their lenses and flash heads that they would have the savvy to include the necessary accessories.

Aside form the third party manufactured 'gelclip' this is the best thing to use for attaching colored filter gel strips to the speedlight. Can be left on the SB-700 full time if you want, and it eliminates the need for sticky adhesives or Velcro fasteners for attaching gel strips to the flash head.

If you need another filter holder, these are nifty and usual Nikon quality. But what I didn't understand is this is already included in the SJ4 Color Filter set for the SB700.
