Comments about Nady MM-242 4/8-Channel Mono/Stereo Mini Mixer:

I am very pleased with the Nady MM-242 preamp Mini-Mixer. For my needs, it's perfect. I use it to mix several components through a "Sonic Maximizer" into my high-end home stereo; the Nady does this job exceedingly well. Why, then, did I not score the Nady a "5"? Simply because it may not have the strength and features to suit a professional user, such as a recording engineer, DJ, or performing musician. However, for the price, this space-saving, no-frills wonder is hard to beat! The MM-242 provides enough line-level inputs to accept as many as four stereo or eight mono components, quite handy for its small size. The trick to achieving pure, clean sound with the Nady is to set the individual line volume nobs fairly low to ensure that the red "Peak" lights seldom come on; the master volume then may be increased as needed. Under these conditions, you will find the sound of the MM-242 to be clear and well-defined. Note: This Mini-Mixer is as mini as they come; thus, there are no tonal EQ controls of any kind on the MM-242, only those for volume. Once again, this is a very basic unit, limited in features; however, within these parameters, it does a great job!

Comments about Nady MM-242 4/8-Channel Mono/Stereo Mini Mixer:

This mini mixer is great for the price... That being said, you get what you pay for... When I first opened it out of the box, I put a 9V battery in it but found that the unit would only turn on if I didn't put the battery cover on. For some reason the cover pushes the contacts out of place and the unit will not work... I have opted to use a wall wort and had no problems otherwise.
