Purchased 4 of these originally to mic a focus group. The 16' cable is a bonus. Worked exactly the way I was expecting.

Comments about Nady CBM 40X Boundary Microphone:

I have mixed feelings about the use of boundary and PZM mics. We use one of these about every ten feet across the stage to pick up dialogue for recording in community theater. I really don't think this is practical for live P.A. as it would require a serious audio mixer to bring in the appropriate mic at the right time and not generate feedback.

The cost/benefit ratio makes these a great value for school & community recording. The output level is in the same range as with most other microphones (a real plus to those of us who have to use attenuators to reduce the gain of hot condenser mics)

The cable is very thin and a fair amount of care is required to protect it on the floor. As with many other boundary mics the front to back rejection ratio isn't high enough to knock out reverberation from the house, so it is necessary to place an acoustic damper downstage of the microphone.
