The Griffin Technology RoadTrip plays music from your iPod or iPhone over your car stereo on an FM radio station. It also charges your device while you drive. The steel neck plugs into your 12 V accessory outlet or cigarette lighter and the cradle holds your iPhone/iPod snug. The cradle has room for most cases and the neck adjusts for optimum accessibility.
The RoadTrip has been outfitted with a clever interface so playing your iPhone/iPod on any FM car radio is refreshingly easy. After you attach the iPhone/iPod to the RoadTrip dock, the SmartScan and SmartSound go to work for you. SmartScan finds the best frequency for your location and SmartSound adjusts the signal strength for that particular frequency. There are no wires to mess with and you can even use the RoadTrip's station presets to lock in your favorite three frequencies.
Another advantage of the RoadTrip is being able to control the tracks you're listening to from the transmitter rather than your iPod/iPhone. The buttons have a raised surface so you can find them without taking your eyes off the road, which is a huge safety feature. You can play, pause, skip forward and skip back. With the Griffin Technology RoadTrip you'll be travelling in style with your favorite tunes and arriving with a fully charged device.

Comments about Griffin Technology RoadTrip:
This is a great product and works well. I had only one problem and that is the light plug was not a tight fit. This made the holder top heavy. As a result I used a Velco strip to hold it in place. Mercedes E320 wagon

Comments about Griffin Technology RoadTrip:
Plugged this device into my 12V power outlet. It was easy to use. I use the preset stations (a nice feature), but I'm still getting some static behind the music. Sadly, this product did not work with my iPod Touch (4th generation). It does work with my older iPod, but the iPod classic looks a bit lost in that over sized cradle. I like the fact that I don't have to pay Sirius any more, but I wish this device worked with my iPod Touch and that I didn't have to put up with the static. And, yes, I've tried using different stations. The Roadtrip is a bit overpriced but overall it does what Griffin advertised it would do.
