This is the best solution for roaming around in a crowd with a video camera. I just used it for a conference of 50 people, where anyone could just start talking at any time. This monopod allowed me to reposition myself and the camera quickly, and set up so I could be steady within seconds. It's a somewhat flimsy item - I don't expect it to last forever, but it was cheap, ad the light weight makes it very easy to carry and use. It fits inside my tripod case, along with the tripod. I'm thinking about adding a small video head to it, because you really can't tilt up or down while your camera is mounted to this monopod as it is.

The monopod's grip surprised me since it does feel very well and secure. It is very solid and sturdy.. EXCEPT for the clamps.. they are made of plastic and they feel extremely toyish.

The screw that goes to the camera is a bit small so I'm not sure if it will be able to support the weight of my DSLR when I lift it and make hoover shots.

The contracting and retracting of the monopod's sections is also quite odd. If you release one of the section but the upper one is not it wont get you the maximum length.. This is a problem if you're working on the go..

This is an average monopod.. not too good.. not extremely bad. I guess I will have to say the cliché: ''You get what you pay for.''

Comments about Polaroid 72" Aluminum Photo/Video Monopod (Black):

It's lightly built but does the job. This one raises higher than a lot of the other monopods which is why I bought it. Used it with my 70-200 lens while shooting a candle-lit wedding with no problems. I recommend.

Comments about Polaroid 72" Aluminum Photo/Video Monopod (Black):

Overall, the quality of this product is good for the money. However, all my video shots came out shaky and ruined the wedding I shot! I'm guessing this isn't ideal for video capturing. Maybe it's best for photos only? I would NOT use this to capture night shots with slow shutters! Your photos will surely suffer! If you want a monpod, buy one with legs for stability.

Comments about Polaroid 72" Aluminum Photo/Video Monopod (Black):

This is a great inexpensive monopod and works perfect for the mosh pit cam I intended it as with one caviot. I had the unfortunate luck to have the head mount pop out with my handycam attached to it 6 ft in the air. My camera got lucky and only suffered very minor cosmitic damage, but I strongly suggest you attach a camera head and really yank on it before you use this and superglue that bad boy together if necessary.

The product has worked well for me the 2 or 3 times I have used it. I'm using it to video sports from the stands where there is no room for a tripod. Seems to be sturdy/well built. Only hitch is that the second section is hard to extend at times. Can't beat it for the price.

This monopod is very sturdy - it has a well-constructed feel to it. The sections are very easy to expand and lock into place. It collapses to a very manageable size, making it easy to bring along wherever you're shooting. I have taken 3 second exposures using it for stability and they looked every bit as good as they would had I used a tripod.

You get what you pay for.
I like the height it gives me and I like the clips that secure the telescoping adjustment, but it doesn't always work smoothly. For the price, though, it does very well. So far it has held where I've adjusted it. The next one I get will have an adjustable head on it.

                              Pretty good for the price.
The middle section is hard to extend fully...I even tried some soap-it didn't help much.

A very good monopod for bargain-minded buyers, can be a bit tight to fully extend. I simply added a little bar soap to the legs and rubbed it out, stopping the grabbiness it had in one of it's 3 sections immediately. Light, sturdy, even stylish, I like this product

Comments about Polaroid 72" Aluminum Photo/Video Monopod (Black):

This is also perfect for doing multi-camera video shoots alone. I have lightweight Canon Pro camcorders. I set up tripods & I can get around with this for tight close ups. It's also much easier to move while keeping stabilized. I do mostly live music performance right now (great for shooting over the heads of stray audience members), but I think this will be a great time saver for filmmaking also. I'll get more for crew.
