Comments about Switronix PowerBase 70 Battery for Panasonic AF100 & HMC Cameras (12" Cable):

I purchased this battery to use with my Panasonic ag af100 camera. I mounted it to my shoulder mount rig using the 1/4 20 thread on the shoulder pad. It adds just enough balance weight to offset the camera. It connects to my camera with the included dc adapter cable and runs for hours! I've literally had it running for 3 hours and I still have 2-3 of the the 4 led charge lights remaining! It is a very versatile unit allowing for use of the included dc power cable to hook directly to your cameras battery compartment or that can be removed and you can use it with a standard v-mount adapter. A very nice feature is the included quick release plate on the underside with allows quick changes.. one side note is that the quick release plate is made of plastic not metal. In my opinion that is hardly a deal breaker for the value and power you get with this unit. Extremely happy with this PowerBase and you should really consider it if your looking for some extra long battery power.

Comments about Switronix PowerBase 70 Battery for Panasonic AF100 & HMC Cameras (12" Cable):

The Switronix PB70-VBG PowerBase-70 Battery Pack provides reliable long-term power. I have three of them. However, each one has a serious flaw when it comes to mounting it under the camera. Basically, when mounted, there is a gap between the rear base of the camera and the top of the powerpack of about 3/16" or so. This causes the unit to wobble very serverly. To make it useable I have added my own "spacers" to eliminate the gap, thus making the unit useable. I love the P-tap and feel the battery lasts quite a long time. Kudos there. But the wobbly mount with the gap is not good at all and needs to be addressed.

Had an all day production shoot. Didn't have to worry about power the entire day. After 12hrs. of off/on operation, I still had 1 bar left on the led gauge. Looking to pick up the cable for a 7d as well.

Works with a bit of gaffer tape

Comments about Switronix PowerBase 70 Battery for Panasonic AF100 & HMC Cameras (12" Cable):

Unfortunately the connector to the camera is not a secure fit resulting in intermittent power, not good. We had charged the pack on receiving it and took it straight on a shoot, we were able to make the connection work by adding a bit of gaffer tape. Not the best outcome but it works. We think the pack is a great idea but the connector really needs to be reworked.
