The Kwik Camo Photography Blind (Realtree APG HD) is a portable camouflage system designed to cover camera gear, video camcorder or binoculars and a tripod. It is made from lightweight, breathable, 2.5 oz polyester/cotton material. It has a large camo window screen that allows for adequate viewing, yet the birds or any wildlife cannot see through it. It zips opens for camcorder or binocular use. The cover allows moving the hands, making adjustments to the camera and/or lens without scaring the subject. Adjustments to the gear are concealed from the subject, and left and right slots in the blind provide easy access. There is a slot on top of the blind that allows use of an external flash unit. A carry pouch is included.
The Realtree APG HD pattern offers even more concealment options in early fall and spring. It is printed with high definition imaging process, allowing it to melt into hardwoods, pine thickets, prairies, river bottoms and other environments.

Up to now I used this type of blind sitting close to the ground to hide my camera gear and me. With this camou I'll go for roe deers which are quite common in the forest here in Germany. As it is as breathable as the one I already have. I hope not to sweat a lot in summer time. Very helpful is the coloured mesh, which covers the large camo window screen. This screen really allows for adequate viewing. It helps hiding your face while observing the area in front of you. Always try to have the light coming from behind. Direct sunlight onto the mesh lowers the looking through capability considerably.

This design leaves a lot to be desired. Namely, it fails to conceal the tripod legs, fails to conceal the flash, depends on your head to hold it up, and is far too expensive. I found a similar, custom-made design that allows one to choose from a half-dozen different patterns, is fully height-adjustable with the tripod, does not rest on my head, fully conceals the tripod, and costs only one-fourth as much.
