It's a good little compact waterproof camera. I was disappointed the battery was internal and could not be replaced. I own the Kodak Zx3 and it's much better for long trips because you can bring a hand full of batteries to last a few days. The Zx5 you will need to recharge every time the battery runs out which can be difficult especially if camping or a day long music festival!

Do you need a durable camera for vacation trips, hiking, vlogging and everyday use? Look no further.
This camera takes good quality videos and can take a beating. The ability to record underwater is pretty cool as well. Best to use this with good lighting(as with most recording cameras).
It may be discontinued, but if you have an opportunity to pick this up somewhere, do it.

this thing is just amazing in all aspects of the product, I took this camcorder to a event in Tallahassee Florida, and i captured about 4-5 hours worth of footage all in great HD graphics, the options for the camcorder is extensive and if you want to stop and take a picture of something it's also a camera in one.all the video I took was steady but not because of a stabilizer but because the camcorder was so easy to hold in your hands the only things off about it is the battery is small but then again for a small camcorder i guess it's a fair battery life.

I took the Playsport Zx5 to swim with dolphin's in Florida. In the water, out of the water and under the water, this little camera performed wonderfully. It is solidly built and compact and takes awesome video. Easy to operate, switch from camera to video with ease. This camera was one of my best investments.

I purchased this to use while hunting. It's small size enables it to fit into a pocket and be packed easily. At zoom of 4 power gets a little grainy. Otherwise gray camera for the $. Fast shipping, great seller.

I purchased this camera for an upcoming cruise to the Caribbean and wanted something reliable to shoot video and still pictures while snorkeling. I was very pleased with the quality for the price. It is easy to use. Areas for picture card and charger slot were perfectly sealed. The only negative I found was the underwater correction does revert to 'OFF' if you turn the camera off. Thankfully I discovered this early on and just kept the camera on. Other than that - no issues. Loved it and it worked perfectly for us. I attached two still pictures (no option to attach video).

Of course you can't expect super great quality but with this neat little handy cam it's good for vlogging and just randomly filming. Don't expect the type of quality from a dslr but you still would be winning if you chose this item! Also, having an sd card makes it easier to transfer files!

I bought this to replace a Zi8 I sent off to a friend. The built-in mic on this is much better than previous models. That was my only real complaint about the Zi8. but it did have an external mic jack. Which we always ended up using. The video quality seems to be the same. 1080 is still terrible. So, your best resolution is really 720/60p. The 1080 turns out grainy and the frame rate is bad enough that you get digital ghosting.

Great underwater video. I used it for about ten hours but now I can't open the tabs to charge the unit or access the SIM card. I'm not sure what to do next. The sound is not very good. The battery life was about 3 hours which gave me some issues.

I love the 60fps setting on this camera. It pretty much preforms just like all the reviews say. I wish that it did have the changable battery pack. Mostly used by my teenager and friends for thier stunts. You will need a memory card right off the bat.

This is my second Kodak Playsport - the first one was stolen! I use the Playsport to teach swim lessons. The underwater video capabililty AND the variable slow-motion speeds make stroke analysis easy! Also, thanks to the new "share" software (with video compression technology) sending video files via email has become incredibly easy. The only thing I think Kodak could do to improve this product would be to enlarge the viewing screen.

This cam is beautiful. You feel compelled to hold it. And the since the buttons all lay well under the finger, you immeditaly want to use it. I bought two: one for my 5 year/old daughter and another one for me 7 years old daughter. They love their cams.
My wife is not a gadget lover but she found herself using it and enjoying it straight away.

Excellent for a small "on the go" camera. Easily fits in a standard pocket with little to no bulk. I use this product exclusively for rabbit hunting, where no up close high detail shots are needed.
The only drawback is the zoom feature. It is simply a digital zoom (lower quality than an optical zoom). However, I knew this before hand and expected it. Also, the mic really doesn't pick up sound all that well.
