Vivitar's 1.4x Teleconverter for Sony adds another valuable tool to your camera bag, at a very affordable price. This compact and lightweight 1.4x teleconverter multiplies the focal length of any compatible lens by 1.4--a 100mm lens with this teleconverter attached, for instance, would give you the view of a 140mm lens. The multi-coating on the converter reduces flare and ghosting, common problems with digital cameras. And, the minimum focusing distance is unchanged. This teleconverter comes with a lifetime warranty.

Crying over the prices of most 85mm lens I decided to trick my system into thinking I had an 85mm. I have (2)50mm lens 1.7 and 2.8 macro. I bought his to pair up with the 1.7 to get closer to a 85mm lens. While its more like a 70-75mm lens with the tele-converter, losing a stop of light doesn't hurt the 1.7 at all. I'm closer on the portraits and still maintaining a shallow depth of field. Only sacrificing a slight amount of image quality is like shooting with the Sony A580 and getting A200 quality.
