The ikan Elements Cold Shoe Adapter is an adapter for any device with a cold-shoe fixture, such as a camera light, audio receiver, or a monitor. It tightens via the thumbscrew. The Cold Shoe Adapter mounts on any 1/4" 20 receiver. The powder-coated black adapter is composed of machined aluminum.

I bought this to hold a second wireless reciever on my XF100. The bolt that comes with it is a little long for the socket on the handle of the camera, and makes it impossible to get a snug fit as the bolt can twist at the socket and on the adapter itself. I trimmed the bolt with a hacksaw and now it works as I intended it to.
I like that I can release a wireless with the small side mounted thumb wheel as opposed to the large bottom mounted wheel on my sennheiser receiver, much quicker and easier.

Judging from the photo I thought I could set the cold shoe into position and turn the knob below, which is really cheap plastic , until it locks securely in the correct orientation. No matter how i alter the threads, It's always cockeyed. The paint is kind of rubbery, is it good. No. It's already scratched up from trying to get it to work correctly and being turned against the plastic washer so I can't really send it back. The cold shoe itself is of decent quality. god I wish there was a camera store where i could try before I buy

This is a great little add on to my HVX-200a. I use my front shoe for an onboard light when shooting so I had no place to mount my field monitor. This little number fits the bill perfectly and mounts in the 1/4 hole near the rear of the camera. Very solid and a great price. I can use it for anything that uses a shoe mount without worry.
