This is a Photoflex OctoDome nxt Extra Small Kit. It includes an 18 x 18 x 9" (1.5' diameter) OctoDome softbox, metal adapter ring, Adjustable ShoeMount Hardware and HeavyDuty Swivel.
The OctoDome nxt XS softbox is designed for use with strobes or hotlights up to 500W. Its circular design provides a large surface area of diffused light with a unique wrap-around quality. It has removable internal baffle that eliminates hotspots and a removable front face for contrast options. It's ideal for head-and-shoulders portraits or interviews.
- Accepts any shoe mount flash and works well in manual or TTL modes

Before i get 32 inches soft box, and realize is too big for location pictures when you need to move fast. So i decide order this one. Is just great. Small, light weight, and whats most important it gives you very nice soft light.

when my octodome XS arrived i was very excited to set it up.it arrived at our office so i did not have my gear with me to test it out, but i assembled it still to see how it looks. I was surprised on how easy it was to assemble and how durable the materials used. I read on some reviews that it was hard to assemble and dismantle so i was scared but once i read the instructions briefly to get a general idea on how to do it i was able to assemble it and dismantle it without breaking a sweat. As soon as i got a the chanceto use it when i arrived home (i've been planning on doing this product shoot for weeks now) prior to purchasing the Octodome and finally i got to do it. What came out was one of my favorite shots, it was a simple light set up but with the help of the octodome it put more drama and class to it. then only down side about it is that i want another one..:-) maybe ill buy the octodome S next. truly a great product from a great company. great purchase and value especially if its your first light modifier like mine.:-)*needs to find a way how to mount PW'S especially FLEX TT5 without turning the flash head around if you want the flash to be completely inside and still have access on the flash controls*

Add your speedlite and the photoflex grid and you have yourself one great light. I love my 7' photoflex OctoDome as much as I love this Extra Small OctoDome.
Drop the power down all the way on your flash and move it about a few feet from your subject and you have one great shot. I love just using one light.

Excellent product. Great price point, very versatile item to have, a must have for outdoor photography. The kit comes with every you need except the light stand which is also cheap enough to get. Mounts onto any existing light stands you have in the studio or home. Creates an amazingly soft light from the traditional 580ex II. Only restriction is the recycle time for External flash. A battery pack for the 580ex II can be purchased to compensate for this flaw. If you are using a strobe with a battery pack you have nothing to worry about. At first i thought that this was too small however has proven that this can create extremely soft even light in most to all conditions. Other only thing i noticed with the kit is that the heavy duty shoemount it comes with doesn't stay all the time so be careful if you are putting a heavy strobe or flash unit on it.
